Yes, thank you. Sorry for dragging but which one is a "master BMS" (I have 10 batteries connected). Would it be the first one, the one directly connected to the (first) Master inverter? If so, I can easily test it, starting from 2nd battery (so the BMS in 2nd battery will become master).

Thank you. It happened at night, will have to monitor the batteries and check when/if it happens again. But I would think that if a one cell fails in a single battery, the remaining batteries will still provide power? OK, even if two or more cells fail, each in different battery, the remaining batteries, with no faulty cells should still work? Or I'm missing something?

What happened to my batteries?
I'm puzzled, perhaps because it happened to me for the first time in 2 years and I ave no clue what could cause it. My power consumption was decreasing slowly over the night, so was my battery SOC. Then around 3 o'clock at night the voltage dropped to 0, as if all the power suddenly evaporated :-) In the morning batteries started charging slowly and then after reaching like 3% around 11:00, suddenly jumped to 100%. What could cause such behaviour? BTW, I'm using 10 x 5kWh SVolt batteries with 4 x 5 kW Deye inverters in parallel.

Deye Inverter #3 in parallel setup stopped communicationg
I have four Deye 5kW inverters in parallel (so 20kW in total). I use solar-assistant for remote monitoring. Month or two ago only three inverters started showing up on solar assistant but no other issues. So this weekend I came to sort it out and... problems. The inverter's screen is dead, I restarted both the solar assistant and inverter but that inverter still doesn't connect to solar assistant and screen is still dead. It seems to work (the inverter is hot and fan working) but no feedback/communication either via solar assistant or screen. The other 3 inverters work with no issues... Any suggestion? The system with 4 inverters in parallel worked well since October 2023, never a single issue. I checked connections on the input/output, fuses on batteries, all seems to be connected and i didn't make any changes to the overall or individual inverter settings. Ps. I never used Deye dongle, only solar assistant.

I have 4 x 5kW DEYE inverters in parallel. So up to 20 kW. No issues. Except that my power supply from Eskom is limited to 60A and it cannot be increased (municipality limit). This limits me more/less 15kW and occasionally my power dips. How can I set the inverters to limit intake from Eskom to, say, 15kW only and automatically SUPPLEMENT any additional power (i.e. anything above 15kW) with power taken from batteries? This is only to shave the peaks, I'm monitoring the power usage and excessive usage seldom lasts for longer than 1 hour... Can it be achieved with settings on inverters or additional hardware?

I don't know how it works but it does 🙂 and attach an extract from Luxpower manual. Well, each inverter manages its own battery bank and as for AC supplied to the load, it is split equally between both inverters (so if it shows the load is 15% of max capacity, (meaning more/less 2 x 5kW x 15% = 1500W) both inverters show 15% (ok, +/- 1%). I don't remember how it works with AC charging because I have not connected to Eskom in months but it worked until I added more panels and set myself free. Also when I look at current to/from the batteries it is normally very similar (so if one battery shows, say, "-5A" the other batteries will also show more/less 5A flowing from other batteries). I emailed Deye and will report if I get the response but it would be very disappointing If I had to have only one bank of batteries and had to use the same type/brand/voltage batteries to ensure communication...

Why not? My experience until now with two Luxpower inverters connected in parallel, each with its own bank of batteries is quite different. Each inverter takes care/manages its own battery bank. Why would Deye be different? In fact the user manual for Luxpower inverter shows two setups for parallel operation: with a single battery bank feeding all three inverters and with a separate batteries for each inverter. And yes, each inverter has of course its own, separate PV cells (on both, Deye and Luxpower setup). I fully appreciate the single battery bank is more efficient (in scenario when specific inverter charged its own battery bank, its PV cells cannot charge batteries connected to another inverter). And then can think about other instances when having a single battery bank is preferred. But I'm willing to pay this price to be able to add more batteries in future if the need arises (and finances improve 🙂) I asked this question thinking the answer is obvious but now I wonder...

Good day, The diagram in Deye manual shows a single battery bank shared between all inverters (same battery bank is connected to each inverter DC input) but BMS communication cable is only connected to the "master" (first) inverter. This works well if all your batteries are the same but not if you want to add more/new batteries that are of different type than those you already have. This could be obvious question but surely you should be able to use separate/different battery banks connected separately to each inverter in parallel, each bank now connected with communication cable to dedicated inverter?

Good day, as above. The manual I have says 3 maximum and then you have to use parallel connection box. Then on youtube the videos show you can connect up to 16... Yes, I know you can't trust all the youtube videos therefore question...

AC cable size for 3 x 5kW parallel Deye inverters?
Thnx. I have 6 flats on my property and wanted to provide a backup power. I'm not thinking of feeding the Eskom grid, not for now at least. The 3rd inverter is a backup if one fails. With 2, if one fails, a single inverter will be far too little and will most likely trip on overload. So I consider to add the 3rd one... Don't know if it make sense? 🙂 For now I purchased only 2 inverters + 24 x 550W panels (12 each) but when installing the AC cables I wanted to make provision for 3rd inverter in the future, therefore my original question about the cable size. Am I overkilling? 🙂

I will check the cable size. My feed from Eskom is limited to 63A but I'm going to ask for 80A (I actually asked municipality to quote me on upgrading to 3phase but it was far too much!).

Good day, I'm looking for approximately 90 STAINLESS STEEL roof tile hooks that can be used with Renusol rails. This installation will be right at the coats so I don't think galvanized steel will last. Any suppliers out there? Kind regards, Eric

Luxpower Inverter not charging from PVs, in "40" mode
Good day, I have two 5 kW inverters in parallel, each connected to its own battery bank and solar panels. None is connected to Eskom, I'm Eskom-free! One is charging fine, with status C0 (panels are charging the batteries and provide power to everything in the house. The other inverter, also with smiley face, shows status "40", uses only batteries to provide power and takes power from the panels only sometimes. The PV voltage is between 130 and 160V and I have total of approximately 3kW PV connected. So how to I force the first inverter to start taking PV power as well? I don't see any specific setting on my app..
