JoeMobstarr28 reacted to Calvin in Nation wide power outagePlease tell me that you are joking.
If not, do you really think that it is a good idea to pollute this forum with far-right political conspiracy theories?

The Magneto 5.12kWh battery range is available in a wall-mount and a rack-mount unit. Both units can be mounted either in rackmount or wall-mount configuration (rackmount unit by means of a wall-mount bracket). The size of the battery is impressive, being much smaller and more compact compared to other batteries with similar specifications.
Communication
The battery does not come with any user manual, which makes inverter communication setup difficult if the CAN or RS485 pin layout is unknown. By testing the most used CAN pin layouts, the CAN pin layout was confirmed to be the Pylontech protocol CAN2.0 used in brands such as Sunsynk, Pylontech, Hubble, REVOV, and many others.
CAN Pin Layout: Pin 2 - GND, Pin 4 - CAN H, Pin 5 - CAN L
Communication between Luxpower and Sunsynk inverters were tested to be stable without any frames dropped.
Parallel communication between multiple batteries can be established by means of the RS485 ports and by setting the 4-bit DIP switch (with address 1 as the master) up to a maximum of 16 batteries.
Performance
The battery can comfortably charge and discharge at 1C without heating up significantly. In our tests, we tested up to 2C with temperatures remaining within their limits without throttling occurring. It is, however, recommended to stay within the manufacturer's limit of 1C. A great addition to the battery is a physical circuit breaker.
Self-Discharge
The battery's self-discharge is very good, with only 16mAh measured per hour.
Start of Charge
The goal of the charging test is to see how the cell temperature increases with the maximum allowed charge, and if the charging performance is throttled. The battery was charged at 1C for an hour, with cell temperatures T1-T4 at 26°C.
End of Charge
After charging from 0 to 100% SOC for an hour, the temperatures of T1-T4 increased to 44°C (1°C below the specification of 45°C). There was no charging performance throttling, with overall good constant charging curves.
BMS Reading Accuracy
To test the accuracy of the voltmeter reading at the battery terminals as well as any volt-drop resulting of high-resistance busbar usage or leakage of voltage caused by faulty breakers, a multimeter was used to test both the open-circuit and closed-circuit voltage. The measurements show a 99.94% accuracy with an open-circuit voltage of 0.003V, which is negligible.
User Interface
The battery user interface is a good addition to assist with monitoring the status of the battery. Information such as the pack voltage, current, state of charge (SOC), individual cell voltages, individual temperature sensors, and battery management system (BMS) are shown. Although most new inverters can show battery BMS information via CAN or RS485 communication, the information is mostly limited to pack voltage, pack temperature, SOC and BMS alarm codes. For inverters that are incompatible or not able to display general battery information, or for much better fault-finding and battery monitoring, this display offers a huge advantage. Problems such as cell imbalances, temperature runaway of a specific sensor and detailed BMS fault codes offers both users and installers an advantage in fault-finding without having to send the battery to the manufacturer.

Conclusion
We were really impressed by the compact size of the magneto battery range, good user interface, high performance, and good warranty. The battery offers good scalability with a parallel capacity of up to 16 units. With the price (at the time of writing) for the 5.12kWh rack-mount battery starting at R21 896.00, the Magneto battery range offers excellent value.

JoeMobstarr28 reacted to Scorp007 in Growatt SPF5000 setting for SVoltThe lawnmower is one load I have never checked so here is my 1.9kw. At the time my house load was 330W. Thus starting load is about 5.1kW top reading and while mowing about 550-600W. Yes my lawn was cut a week ago so more like trimming.
The extra 22A causes a 5V drop at my DB.

JoeMobstarr28 got a reaction from zsde in Growatt SPF5000 setting for SVoltYes.The other downside, in my case, is that LI BMS mode sets the charge and float voltages higher than recommended and this triggers OVP warnings on the BMS. I ended up opting for the USER2 mode and you can set your voltages and charge current.

JoeMobstarr28 got a reaction from MightyDee in Luxpower SNA Overcharging Batteryies (OVP Warnings)Hi there,
CAN- L52
RS485- L04, works similar to L52.
Had issues with L02- limits charge current to 5A.
I have given up running on LI BMS mode, voltage is set higher at 54 V on both bulk and float( SVolt recommends 52.5 V and 51 V) and this is what leads to the OVP warnings on the BMS. I have been on USER2 ever since with less hassles.

Thanks for getting me in touch with the SVolt guy, he was of great assistance and I finally managed to sort out the 5A charge limitation issue. Got it working under CAN protocol and it's now sitting at 95A.
The voltage was automatically set to 54 v on both bulk and float, slightly higher than what he recommended. I will monitor how it goes and hopefully it'll behave😕

JoeMobstarr28 got a reaction from MightyDee in Luxpower SNA Overcharging Batteryies (OVP Warnings)I have a slightly different scenario. Same battery with a Growatt ES 5000 communicating via RS485. The maximum charge current is set at 5A and cannot be changed in LI mode and I am forced to go to USER2 mode. This allows me to change the current and voltage limits, however, despite the recommended settings, as soon as it reaches the fully charged state- the OVP warning on the battery is triggered. I have tried lower charge settings and the issue still persists. What I have noticed though, is that as soon as the reaches 100% charge, the inverter inexplicably displays higher voltage settings, slightly above the preset ones. So, what I have done is , once the battery reaches the 99% mark, I quickly revert back to LI mode on the inverter to avoid the OVP warnings. I know this is not an ideal way of doing things, but my frustration is the less than ideal charge current setting limitation on the Growatt. I tried reaching out to Growatt and pointed out the issue to them and they simply responded by saying to just go with the USER2 setting. So, my thinking is that the OVP warnings are more on the inverter side than the battery itself- stand to be corrected though.

JoeMobstarr28 got a reaction from Buyeye in Luxpower SNA Overcharging Batteryies (OVP Warnings)Hi
Finally got around to testing the L52 protocol on CAN. Turns out the installer was going about it the wrong way and I decided to do it myself.
Glad to report that it works and the charge current was automatically set to 95A under LI mode.
Thanks to all the forumites for the help.

JoeMobstarr28 got a reaction from zsde in Luxpower SNA Overcharging Batteryies (OVP Warnings)We had great difficulty getting the battery to communicate with the inverter after installation, trying numerous protocols with no success. Eventually settled on the L02 protocol via RS485, but then came the hurdle of the 5A charge limit. I would prefer the battery and inverter to communicate via LI mode, but I end up with a battery that takes forever to be fully charged, hence the USER2 option. This has now presented another hurdle of the OVP warning on the battery. I will give the USE option a go and see how that goes, thanks for the tip.
Apologies to @MightyDee for highjacking the thread.
