That is a great idea. I did not think about if I needed to do any maintenance on the Inverter side, then I can move the essentials temporarily to the grid. Thank you. Edit. I noticed that I can also use an AC change over switch. Are there benefits of using one over the other?

Hello, I would like some advice on wiring up my inverter. I have the GROWATT INVERTER 3KW off grid inverter and a 24V 200Ah battery. No Panels as yet. I have come up with the following wiring diagram. Please let me know if it is correct, and what changes I should make. Some things I was unsure about. Having an Earth Leakage after the inverter - Is this necessary? The inverter has AC IN and AC OUT as separate connections, specifically, separate Earths, but do I join the earths together? The reason I ask this is because I was advised to use a 4 core cable, and the sheath can be the earth, however this would imply a shared/combined earth from AC IN to AC OUT. I have not shown this in the diagram though For all the New breakers - Do I go one size up or one size down if I cannot find the correct Amps 2 Pole AC CB - 32A 1 Pole DC CB - 164A ELB - 32A Thank you for assisting!

Yes, not right now though. End of next year, or mid year, I'd like to add panels to it. I was also leaning towards the Growatt as I've seen more reviews for the Growatt I was looking to spend up to 35K without panels. I have a 24V 200Ah battery on the way I was learning, albeit very little, about earth neutral bonding. What component do I need for that? I'm assuming some kind of relay that will activate when I get the "dry contact" signal from the inverter.

I appreciate your response, however, right now, only the 24V system is an option for me. My system will be for loadshedding, and my area has loss of supply outside of loadshedding at times. I will be powering only fridge, freezer and my work PC from the inverter How would I determine, between the kodak and growatt I mentioned, which is a better inverter? What characteristics do I look for?

Thank you. I think I understand what you are saying. For me, my requirements is just to have electricity for fridge, freezer and work PC(not on the entire day). I wanted to do a 24V system now, and then later upgrade to a 48V system by purchasing another battery and inverter. This is why I was hoping to keep the cost of the inverter low as I saw some are 60K+ which I don't want to invest right now. I was not intending on back feeding to the grid. How do I tell if an inverter is true hybrid. There are a lot that say hybrid, but now I doubt if that is true. What information do I look for? And lastly, There is a 24V Kodak inverter - https://powerforum-store.co.za/products/kodak-solar-off-grid-inverter-vmiii-3kw-24v In the opinion of those here, how is this compared to the Growatt SPF 3000TL HVM-24? I This was the first option I came across, however, when I did research, hybrids came up, and thought the Growatt would be better since it was labeled as hybrid. A 48V system will cost too much right now, but that would be the best way to go

Hello, I am looking to get a hybrid inverter setup and want to get some advice on the Growatt SPF 3000TL HVM-24. Datasheet: https://www.growatt.de.com/upload/file/contents/2019/06/5d034b409a911.pdf I have a 24V 200Ah battery on the way. Can anyone confirm if this inverter works in the way I think it works. It does blend solar and utility power? In program setting 01, if I choose SOL, this will first use solar, then Battery or Utility. However, if I set program setting 12 to maximum, then I will effectively be saying for the most part, don't use battery and use utility when it drops below maximum 25.6V in this case? So it might use a little battery, but for the most part battery level will stay high as it will use solar and utility after batt voltage hits 25.6V - Is this a correct assumption? Then lastly, are there any other 24V hybrid inverter options that will allow me to have hybrid functionality? On a normal day, I would like Solar, then Solar + Utility, then when no solar is available battery + Utility. Or something that will maximum my solar use. Thanks!
