Hello. When running on inverter/ battery id like to turn off my heating (on ewelink) when my stove is used to save overloading the inverter. What can sense the cooker is turned on maybe by current draw and then I can via ewelink turn off the heating whilst cooking and heating back on when cooker is turned off?

  2. As per title, I used a Sonoff Dual R3 on my TV cabinet. After a power cycle, when the Sonoff got power, it started cycling the relay on and off. No settings changed in the app/device. Draw from cabinet was less than 600watt max. The red light keeps on blinking fast. When I opened it, there is no noticeable burns or swollen caps. Any advice?

Is there a sonoff (or ewelink compatible) device that will allow me to plug in my normal 3 prong appliances and switch them remotely? Something like the attached but Ewelink compatible. I used to buy the Sonoff Basic but then I still have to wire a janus and three prong plug to it and then it hangs off the wall socket and becomes expensive, time consuming and messy.

  4. Has anyone been using one of these Smart Switches (EWELINK WIFI Smart Circuit Breaker Type Timer - 63A with Power KWh Monitoring - Ewelink Smart App - Geyser Timer)? I have used it successfully for a long time. Today I got a message that there was a new firmware version for it. I installed the new version, and now the switch does not work correctly. Anyone have similar issues? Thanks!!

Hi @Sonoff Africa Are you aware of any connectivity issues with the new Powr320d? I have two switches in different locations that regularly go offline. I updated to the latest firmware and are running 1.0.7 as off yesterday but both were offline again this morning, they were previously running 1.0.6. If you switch the switches off and then on again and they connect to the wifi and usually work for +- 24hrs before they go offline again. One is located almost directly next to a wifi AP and there is a PSF-B67-GL switch running next to it with no issue so don't think it is a wifi issue

  9. Hi, I bought a D1 dimmer a couple of years ago, and from about 3 months in, it started switching on by itself. I tried updating the firmware several times and checked nothing was triggering the device. I’ve had to set up an automation to turn off the switch if it comes on - which makes having the smart switch completely pointless and useless It even comes on by itself when disconnected from Wi-Fi, so can’t be something externally triggering it. Should I just toss the device, or is there something I can do?

  10. I have borehole motor that is manged by smart controller based on various levels. The controller is always powered but pump relay not closed. I would like to wire a device to the controller output to detect 220V voltage present and send push notifcation and make entry in log file. Do I need something like load shedding detector or can SonOff mini work on its own?

  11. Started by Paul-NA,

I am using sonoff miniR4 to control light in my home. The miniR4 are either placed in the switch box or in the distribution board. When in the distribution board, I would like to find a way to fix them neatly on the din rail... but so far no luck. When no physical switch is needed (pool pump, geyser...) I use a smart wifi circuit breaker which fits nicely onto the din rail... unfortunately all these do not have a connection to a switch. I would appreciate if someone could help me to find an ewelink compatible wifi switch that fits onto a din rail and can be connected to a physical switch (pulse mode) like the miniR4.

Ok, so I have no knowledge of home automation whatsoever but read a post somewhere that suggested the above mentioned kit to switch off specific plugs in your home during loadshedding. The requirement is as follows: When loadshedding kicks in, this device is triggered when the Eskom Grid falls away. It then controls a “scene” that you have set up that tells the WIFI switched you have connected, to turn off. When the Eskom grid returns, its switches them on again. I think this is something I would like to try and connect to my washing machine plug. So that the plug is switched off during loadshedding and can’t be used while th…

Is this the correct place to complain that the app keeps logging me out everytime its closed on my phone? Will you guys be able to request a "keep me signed in" button or something? Ive been a huge sonoff fan since 2017, and in these many years have only experienced one server downtime so never use alternative apps to operate it, but this issue is starting to make me look at alternatives as its super annoying having to log in everytime first before adjusting my fan speed.

Hello Is there a way that I can have the Sonoff items that are on the one phone also be on another phone i.e my phone and then the missus. So that we can both control items on the Sonoff ? For example I can switch off a light and so can the missus but on seperate phones ?

I'd like to install a smart switch of sorts to switch my geysers on/off at programmed intervals and on certain triggers via Home Assistant. I was just about ready to get some Sonoff POWR320D devices (POW Elite) as they seem to be just what I'm looking for. But then I noticed the Sonoff THR320D (TH Elite). They seem to be identically priced so now I'm not sure if there are some other fundamental differences between these two devices that I'm missing. With the TH Elite I can monitor the temperature of the geyser (if I buy the separate temperature sensor) and use that as another trigger for switching the geyser on or off. So what purpose does the POW Elite serve? W…

  19. Hi guys. Has anyone experienced this above issue? When the grid drops and the loadshedder is activated, it would switch the devices like the geyser and pool pump off... this works fine... The issue is if the grid drops and comes back up again it switches my devices on even outside if the time parameters set... it doesn't matter if it was on or off when the grid initially dropped Is there a setting I'm missing Please help

  20. Started by GrIn,

I'm stuck... I am wanting to setup an IFTTT rule that switches a Sonoff Powr Elite off when the current flowing through another Sonoff Powr Elite exceeds a set level, and then back on when the current drops. Basically, switch off geysers and pool pump when someone switches on the kettle/microwave/toaster/dishwasher etc. to protect the inverter. I can access all of my (>20) Sonoff devices, and can control all of them via the App or web. I can build IFTTT rules for all them - except the POWR320d's. I can even build an IFTTT temperature or humidity based rule with a Sonoff Elite TH unit I have (it switches a secondary fan to cool my inverters). I've subsc…

  23. Hi all I am considering getting a Sonoff loadshedding detector as per link and wondering if it will be able to work in my case. I have 2 loads that I run through my inverter (Geyser and pool pump), but only wish to run them when Eskom power is available to ensure that PV is used as much as possible and any shortages come from Eskom power and not the battery. If loadshedding happens during a timeframe one of the loads is active, the loadshedding detector needs to switch off these loads. If Eskom returns, it should activate the load if it is within its active timeframe, with a 5 or 10min delay. Obviously because the loads are connected via the Inverter, their indi…

I was just gifted on of these little guys. Not sure what I will use him for yet, i was thinking of maybe popping it behind one of the switches for an outside light so i can automate when it comes on and off. But before I call out an electrician, would it work in this setup. i "think" that black wire is a neutral..... but it goes somewhere I am not sure
