  1. Something has gone completely bonkers with my setup. It's been working beautifully for months, then out of the blue it started sending weird data, inconsistently e.g.the 76% was correct, but lots of ZEROS as well All my sensors had wacko values. I read a previous post that looked similar, so i did as suggested changed my power supply (usb cell charger) data looked good on almost all sensors except for one that i wanted. and now suddenly I am getting no data (see log attached) Did something vrek? how can i troubleshoot it? Think my esp32 died? or the RS485 (i hope not that - it was a pain in the butt to get setup between soldering, removing the R7 etc etc) logs_esphome-web-e3b6e0_logs (9).txt
  2. what sort of box? i can confirm I have the correct neutral. So i guess i just cut and use those 2 ends for the sonoff. then just wire like normal. switche goes into sonoff. and the Hot + Load also goes into sonoff
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. I have put the conditions inside the action for now. but in time id like to make it a bit neater
  4. I was just gifted on of these little guys. Not sure what I will use him for yet, i was thinking of maybe popping it behind one of the switches for an outside light so i can automate when it comes on and off. But before I call out an electrician, would it work in this setup. i "think" that black wire is a neutral..... but it goes somewhere I am not sure
  5. yeah thats what I am tending towards. I think i need to read up on value templates to that I can have a single configuration for a Geyser time frames (morning, and evening) else when i want to tweak my geyser times within the year I dont have to remember to change it in three places (triggers to switch on, off, and inside my voltage automation)
  6. Just replaced a non-smart geyser timer with a CBI timer, and I have it integrated into my home assistant. I have automations in place in HA that will switch ON the geyser in the morning, and then off again. repeat again in the late afternoon. I also have a Deye solar system in place (also integrated into HA) - my Geyser does not get power from the battery, so the geyser (and the time switch) dont function when its load shedding. One BIG draw back with this design vs the manual timer. With the manual timer - when load shedding ENDs and power is restored to the timer, it will return to whatever state was intended by the time configuration With the smart switch i have 3 options (ON, OFF, or REMEMBER LAST STATE) I have left it on REMEMBER but the issue is that if loadshedding started when the geyser was meant to be OFF, then when loadshedding ends it will stay OFF, even though it should have triggered ON at that time Interested to know how others have compensated for this best solution i can come up with is detect when loadsheddings has ended based on grid sate going from OFF to ON, then determine if I am in an OFF or ON time period, and trigge geyser off or on. this just feels very clumsy, and will not be so nice to maintain.
  7. ooo. OK i understand. All my time switch is doing, is making the contactor close a circuit so the geysers are powered. The time switch doesnt carry the load of the Geyser. gotcha.... I am single phase. yes i have 3 geysers so its a rewiring project to get the consumption data - not sure if its worth that. M main goal is I made my geysers smart, and I can integrate them into HA. Getting consumption data would have been a nice to have thanks
  8. No luck... i tried the CBI app and it does the exact same thing could it be a wiring issue? The LOAD from the controller goes into an AC Contactor before it goes to the geysers - could that be the issue?
  9. I'll try. The tuya smart app works with my other device on my pool filter
  10. Still showing zero. Very strange. Definitely drawing power because I can see the usage spike on my inverter.
  11. Ok good point. Maybe I jumped the gun. I'll leave it over night and look again in the morning
  12. Just installed a CBI asc on my geyser. Seems to be working fine. Im using the tuya smart app. Under electricity stats I can see a voltage, but no current? What would cause that? My geyser is hot so it must be drawing a current
  13. Hi all, I have a very nice HA setup, using StephenJoubert's home_assistant_solarman integration into my Deye inverter It reads my inverter settings, and I have several automations working off of the info it provides. My next step is to start automating the configuration of Inverter time of use settings. I would love to have certain scenarios play out based on weather forecasts, or load shedding statuses that will tweak when Gris charge is activated, and the threshold levels increased but I haven't found a method that will let me do it (and based on the potential for messing up my inverter, i'd rather not experiment to much beyond what someone else has done) Any pointers in this regard would be great. Thanks so much!
