Hi, complete newbie to Sonoff here.

Couple of questions.

My current setup consists of Alexa devices, a HomeAssistant installation and a couple of Shelley light switches. I would like to integrate my sliding gate (ET Drive 500) into my home network so that it can be opened and closed via Alexa Voice command. HomeAssistant integration would be a bonus.

1. Do I need a special hub for the Sonoff sensors to accomplish integration

2. Do you have a sensor that I can install in the ET Drive 500 to accomplish this

3. Do you have detailed, step by step instructions on how to set it up?

Thanks

As far as I am aware the garage door opener would work for a gate motor. The only potential problem would be wifi signal depending how far the gate is from your router.

Hi How are you?

Yes it will definitely work, just need to be carefull as the is a usb powerd device 5 volts but it dose have a sensor to read the state of the gate.

Great to have Sonoff here. Some of the newer products like the NS panels being able to add scenes to them are brilliant.

Hi

It’s our pleasure and sometimes we might be slow to respond due limited time.

Just inbox me you address and give me a few days and I will send a test rig to you. All you will have to do is plug it in. I will make it up with plug top and a extension. It will be fairly quick and we will have results with in 24 hours of pluging it in from the log files.

Thanks Aleks. It would be great if you can see how it behaves. I will PM you shortly.

Hallo Aleks

I have very recently switched on my solar system, and so far I am very happy with it. My whole house is connected, geyser and stove included, and thus far I have been lucky enough not to have used a single watt from the grid.

My geyser is however connected to a Geyserwise system, which switches on twice a day, during peak sun shine. I do however find that on very cloudy days, the geyser taps in too much into the batteries, and I would like to be able to switch the geyser off during such times, or when I can see that the geyser is already warm enough through Geyserwise.

Does SONF have a geyser switch that I will be able to remotely control the on and off switch. The geyser is 3000w, 150L

Hi,Please send me the picture of the Geyser's wise, they use to have a nc/no port which could accept commands and we could talk to that. If you have the manual and some pictures, I will gladly have a look see if we can find a easy solution

Hi guys, hope you can help. I bought a Sonoff Basic for the sole purpose of controlling a dehumidifier inside a closed off room.

I can't seem to get the damn thing to communicate via WiFi. Chucked it in a box and forgot about it.

What could be wrong?

Are there Sonoff downlight bulbs available yet? Or any downlight bulbs that's compatible with the ewelink app?

Why not add a Sonoff Basic or Sonoff Mini into your existing lights circuit? That's what I have done with a few in my house

Unless you want to control each individual downlight by itself, this is probably easier and cheaper than buying controllable bulbs

I do, for the rest of the house, but I like the dimming and RGB offered by the other brands - it's for my movie room.

I have about 8 in use and have paired quite a number more. There are times that you just get a stubborn Sonoff that just test you in a big way. At times one has to try over and over again. When 1st launched I found the instruction of holding the button in for 5 sec was way too short. When I took it to 7+ seconds suddenly they paired. The other day I had to join the Sonoff Wifi when the phone requested it. Before joining it would also not work. 2 out of 3 worked spot on by not having to join the Sonoff Wifi to pair.

Also check your Wifi settings. Sonoff only does 2.4GHz wifi and the phone needs to also be on the same 2.4GHz network (often 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name)

Otherwise, the Compatible Mode for pairing usually works. More cumbersome but also more reliable

Hi

Unfortunately they don’t have any yet, it would be nice just to keep it all in one app.

Going cross platform for scenes is a bit more configurations.

I've now tried for about an hour... without success.

Thanks to all who responded. Seems my Sonoff just won't play ball.

It returns to the box...

Aleks

Good day.

I purchased a Sonoff THR320D to control my geyser fitted with a Geyserwise PTC Stainless Steel 230V Electrical Geyser Element 1.5kw.

I previously used a geyserwise to control the element, but the time was always a few minutes off and eventually the pc board developed a problem, hence the Sonoff THR320D.

My timer is set as follows.

03:30-05:30 Monday to Friday If temp <50c switch on and if temp >55c switch off

10:00-15:30 Monday to Sunday If temp <60c switch on and if temp >65c switch off

It is very important that these temps and times work as they should to sync with my schedule as I'm using solar during the day and batteries at night.

This is where the problem starts.

Monday to Friday the geyser switches on at 03:30 and does not switch off when it reaches said 55c. or at 05:30. I have to manually switch it off. Sometimes I catch it just in time before it reaches 75c. I presume if I don't switch it off, it will just keep on heating until something pops.

The 10:00-15:30 timer works perfectly.

Here's the hardware/software versions etc....

Manufacturer: Sonoff

Model: THR320D

FW Name: SN-ESP320D0-THR3-01

Current version: 1.1.0

+1 for after years of indicating the slow response to update power value on my Pow R2 it is now fixed with the update from 3.5 to 3.6 on the APP.

Now what still remains is the 30sec response time before one can get a value for the current reading after opening the APP.

Even after trying a router with Voda SIM supplied by Aleks the 30sec is still a problem and it was not the case in the 1st year or more of using the device. It started after an update.

3 different cell networks have been tried and this long delay remains. Sonoff is mounted within 2m from the router. All my streaming work very well so not a bandwidth problem I guess.

Time to tasmotize that :)
All my sonoff devices push data out at 10 second intervals, some of the critical ones do once every second and all local without need for internet.
