Hi,

We will probably start selling them in July, It will be around the R3.6K for the top model. The testing is going very well but there is still features they are building. Progress looks good. Very stable and easy to install.

Anyone out there using the iHost yet. Please share your current experience. The web does not provide much other than the initial reviews around March / April this year.

Hi,

I have a TP-Link deco mesh wifi network that all my sonoff switches are connected to.

I have setup the ihost device and upgraded the firmware to the latest version. All my sonoff deviecs are on LAN control.

The ihost does not pick up the devices. All the devices are supported in ihost.

My setup is as follows:

Router is connected to the main deco. Then the other deco device is daisy changed together.

The ihost is also connected to the same router.

Any idea what the problem is?

Hi, I may not be interpreting your set up correctly. According to TP-Link guidelines, your Decos should be set up in Access point mode if you use a router. The router should sit between your fibre connection and the APs (Decos), whether wired or wireless. I understand your set up as internet Deco router iHost. This will cause DNS conflicts.

Personally, I use my first Deco as the router and achieve full download speeds despite Afrihost stating this could slow down things. When you do get things going let us all know how it's working.

Hi

As long as the iHost network cable is in the same IP network segment as the Sonoff devices and the iHost it will pick all of them up. The other thing you can try is put the TP-Link it into bridge mode and there will only be one network segment.

In bridge mode you do lose some of the TP-link functionality.
