MetaB got a reaction from jumper in Dyness 48100 batteryMorning all, found out the main board had blown causing the issue. Had it repaired, affordably and the issue has been resolved. For the Luxpower units, you can ask the online team to check and do a firmware upgrade....they can also check the board parameters and status

MetaB reacted to jumper in Dyness 48100 batteryI guess Short Circuit Protection (different to over current protection) has been activated on the BMS. Normally this should reset itself after about 1min or if charge current is detected, unless there is a permanent short circuit in the battery circuit (either the BMS or across the inverter battery terminals)... maybe the precharge circuit has been damaged if your BMS has one.
Looking at my BMS manual (not Hoselect, but they are all quite similar) the SCP can also be activated if Over Current Protection has been triggered too many times. Do you have an OCP count? Here's an excerpt from my manual in case it helps:
It seems the only way to deactivate it would be to reconnect it to a charger, but as you say it goes into protection as soon as you close the breaker. You may be able to get it started by precharging the circuit before closing the breaker, but I hesitate to give specifics because I'm not a sparky and I don't have personal experience with this. There are quite a few topics where people had to precharge before connecting a battery, otherwise maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.
You may need to first check that there is no short across the battery terminals of the inverter, but be very careful, make sure everything is disconnected and turned off for quite a while before touching anything as the inverter will hold charge in its internals which can be very dangerous, get a professional to check it out if you don't have experience.
That's all the ideas I have.

MetaB reacted to QuintenRowland in Luxpower SNA5000WPV inverter - is battery communication cable necessary?Hey @MetaB
Just wanted to reach out and say thanks I used your pinout today on a Luxpower SNA and it worked brilliant and inverter setting to 21 on brand worked like a charm for me.

MetaB got a reaction from ChrisDieVis in Luxpower SNA5000WPV inverter - is battery communication cable necessary?Hey all,
Managed to get this working on a Luxpower SNA5000 and Hoselect Battery LiPo4 48v, 100a.
Used the standard RS485 setup....
Inverter - RS485/CAN port
PIN 1 = RS485B
PIN 2 = RS485A
Battery - RS485 port
PIN 7 = RS485A
PIN 8 = RS485B
Battery DIP switches = 1 0 0 0
Battery settings on Luxpower:
Battery option 3 - Lithium
Battery type - 18 or 21

MetaB got a reaction from Burt in LUXPOWER SNA5000 WPVHour after loadshedding...and its charging back up to 100% it appears.
Will keep monitoring, still need to figure out this 100% charge/discharging cut off.
Set according to time and letting the battery BMS do it's job
Thanks

MetaB got a reaction from Burt in LUXPOWER SNA5000 WPVYeah, was stressing on the 100%, so I brought it down slightly...as a buffer. Will check after load shedding to see if it recharges back up again. Set it to Time now, so it went up to 100% and is sitting there with minor discharging and recharging going on for now. Thanks for all your guidance buddy.

MetaB reacted to Burt in LUXPOWER SNA5000 WPVHi ,
Let me know how it goes ,
I also see that your "AC Charge End Battery SOC% is set to" 98%
Maybe try setting that to 100% ?
Else from what i understand the Battery will stop charging @ 98% , Unless you have a reason for it set to that ?

MetaB got a reaction from Burt in LUXPOWER SNA5000 WPVThanks Gents, I'm struggling with the same....charges and discharges even if Grid is available. Will try out the time settings without SOC. This is my current setup with SOC

MetaB reacted to JpRoux in LUXPOWER SNA5000 WPV@Burtthanks for the heads-up. Mine is already set with the above. However, only charges until 86%
