  1. thanks alot for that feedback, i contacted the supplier and they said we can only change the control board. the model is Inverter 5kva-48-PAR
  2. Hi everyone, i have 2x 5kva inverters (working independently) and both inverters were installed on the same day am told however, a fault code popped up from no where and the two units stopped working with fault code 90 on the display which i believe is not in the manual book. both inverters were directly sourced from china and i do understand that fault 90 is related to the inverter firmware. any ideas on which firmware would work on this unit? its got 8X200Ah gel batteries and 12X 250w solar panels hooked to it. am unable to upload the actual specs because am not on site and will only be able to get specs later in the day. thanks

    okay great thanks alot
  4. Thanks alot for the feedback and recommendations. I appreciate.
  5. Thanks for that. Makes alot of sense and coming to lighting, the shelters 're made of transparent plastic material and it's not a priority at the moment since work is mostly done during day time
  6. Yes am in Zambia and I will have to source the equipment from S.A
  7. He's got a 7.5kva generator and ATS already.
  8. That's my concern with a GTI. I guess Infinisolar would get me around alot better.just need to understand better.
  9. Or Oh ok I get it.. meaning in this case I can use infini solar 10kva considering it can operate in grid tie with battery backup? I understand I can load it to about 15kw pv array. If I was to go by @pilotfish proposal of using 1500Ah 2V batteries (3000Ah) at 50% DOD I would get about 15hrs on battery backup and given 8hrs of sunlight meaning somehow 10.9kw would charge the batteries. While 4.1kw goes to the load. I would save on 5kw pv cost from @pilotfish's proposal of using axpert x6 units. Is that workable?
  10. Great idea.does the 5kva fronius have a battery backup provision? Grid tie will work perfectly when grid is present but he is also trying to avoid the use of generator when grid is not present.
  11. Just a quick one .I just noted that the 5kva axpert parallel configuration x6 units recommends 1200Ah battery bank and you proposed 3000Ah which is attainable by means of using 1500Ah x2.is it ok to have two groups of 1500Ah considering the recommended is 1200Ah for 6 units parallel operation? Thanks
  12. All the equipment are single phase and it's a fish hatchery so the equipment runs through out .
  13. Thank alot for that feedback and I will try to put figure together and see th total cost for the system. I will study through and give it a thought . Client is likely to get some financing from a bank and needs a proposal. Thank once again.
  14. Good morning. Apologies I wa offline. Hi Chris morning. Yes all the equipment are single phase. Let me study through @pilotfish' s proposal.
  15. Hi I am not so experienced in solar I just have 2years working experience going to 3 years in March next year. I need help with the best solution for 4.1kw total load (water pumps for the fishery) and runs 24hrs. The owner would like to go complete off grid because he is spending quite alot on utility bills. Below is the load and running hours needed 24hrs. Air blower 1.1Kw Air blower 0.75kw Water pump1.5kw Water pump 0.75Kw Regards

  17. Ok great I would go for option 1 too. Will draw up the two options and settle for one which will be within our budget and most efficient. Thanks for your contributions
  18. Ok that is understood.. Am learning from everyone and taking note of contributions. In a case where we decide not to complicate the setup, would it be ok if we had this arrangement 1.GTI 2.Auto start Generator The generator only kicks in when GTi is absent I assume as long as the grid is present the generator remains on standby mode right? I should believe when Pv peak hours passes , the load draws power from grid unless grid fails will the generator come in. Though this setup makes panels useless when grid fails during the day it's pretty much easier to troubleshoot should I be out if site. 2nd option Setup 1. GTI with backup battery 2. Auto start Generator Operation. A. GTI is first Priority to Supply load and if enough, feeds back into grid B. Should grid shut down during day time,Solar power continues to Supply power to the load and grid is isolated by A bypass cabinet switch point (Found one in China) though expensive but allows me to use the Pv array during the day thereby saving on generator fuel costs. In this generator only kicks in when both grid and solar power fails completely. I have thought through and researched for some good hours and your contribution on these two options will help.
  19. Thanks alot that is helpful. And yes I would love to have more info. Thanks
  20. Ok great. Understood and yes batteries would be cheaper on a long term basis. Thank you.
  21. Thanks alot that settles the dust.i was thinking of incorporating ATS into the system .isolates the grid and generator picks up. much appreciated
  22. That was my first line of thought but won't the power drawn be limited to the Victron capacity?
  23. Thanks alot let me read through .
  24. Hi. This is my first time having a grid tied system and am still in the preparation and design stage. My customer requirement is to have a grid tied system which will be run by generator when grid fails. I do understand that grid tied systems are mainly for eliminating or lowering down electricity cost and feed-in into grid via net metering system. I have researched and so far all I am finding are grid tied systems which obviously shut down when grid is absent and one inverter luckily runs on pv or backup batteries when grid is absent and uses a bypass cabinet switch point to cut off power from going to grid (automatically). Now my client does not need batteries instead needs a generator.how can I integrate Grid tied system and generator and not disturb the grid or feed into grid? And how can it be automated? Regards.
