Need Advice On Solar Panels For Small Home
Hi Bobster, so I have had a look at my COCT bills and I am buying between 400 and 450 units a month that is including the geyser that is not on the inverter. Not sure if that's enough to go off? Many thanks again Daniel

Need Advice On Solar Panels For Small Home
Good morning, Hope everyone is well! I have a Lux Power SNA5000 & Two Times BX51100 Batteries. I have just paid for 4 X 455w solar panels and just trying to find out if it will be sufficient for a small home. Our electricity bill is about a R1000 a month and our home is a small town house. The kettle, coffee machine, micro wave and washing machine is on a change over breaker so that it bypasses the inverter unless we need it so generally it is off during load shedding. Our average discharge on both batteries during a two hour load shed is 6% total as we only use the kettle when necessary and then turn the bypass breaker off again. Would the 4 panels be sufficient enough to keep the batteries topped up and the house going over a load shed the reason for the panels is so that we don't have to be completely reliant on ESKOM if there is ever huge amount of power outages. Many thanks in advance

Luxpower Inverters - LUX-SNA5000WPV & LUX-LXP5K-LV
I have an SNA5000 installed at both my homes and one setup at my office with Dyness batteries. Very happy with them they have not let me down. At one home I have 10 panels and two SNA5000 working together an honestly I could not be happier with the systems. My only recommendation on the battery side would be to go with a 1c battery and not 0.5c batteries like I have now.

Lux Power SNA5000 & Two Dyness Batteries Installation
Its very strange because the first installer I used also did the same connection as I have it now. I really hope its okay because I have three of these systems installed at another house of mine and my office and all are connected the same way. I did email Dyness to see what there thoughts where but I never got a response from them unfortunately.

Lux Power SNA5000 & Two Dyness Batteries Installation
Hi Mzezman, Thank you I did ask my installer about it I have seen on other topics you have commented on before about this. The installer said that if we connect it in series as per Dyness's diagram it will give out a 100 volts. So I am not sure so far its been running fine I haven't had any issues but I hope its correct.

Lux Power SNA5000 & Two Dyness Batteries Installation
Hi All, Just thought I would show off my system. I haven't had much luck with installers and this is the third time this system has been installed. The outcome is great and he wall exceeded my expectations let me know what you all think. Originally the system was in a cupboard but a lot of people on the forum told me to pull it out and that is exactly what we did! If anyone needs a good installer in Cape Town that knows Luxpower send me a message. Many thanks Daniel

Advice On Small Solar System
danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfHi Bobster, Thank you! So my dad wants another battery but I can just order him another. I don't need to get rid of this battery. I just wanted to get solar going but don't have the money to do it without selling a battery for the moment. By the sounds of things I should keep both battries and wait for solar later? So our house is all on except for the garages. I do have a bypass switch for half the kitchen that cuts off the kettle, microwave laundry machine and coffee machine that I can flick up if I want them on during load shedding. We used to use 10% on one battery during a two hour load shed that was everything except for the strong appliances I have listed above. Thanks again for your help!

Advice On Small Solar System
danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfHi Sean, Thank you very much for your time! What I think I'll do then is buy the panels and save up for the install a bit later on. The inverter is an SNA5000 in my cupboard in my gym that was a garage. It has a ceiling in the garage so much cooler then your normal garage. I never close both cupboard doors I always leave one open or both if running heavier appliances. Do you think it will be okay In there? I agree about keeping both battries as they are 5c and will rather buy the panels now and install them later on. Many thanks again.

Advice On Small Solar System
Hi Everyone, I have one 5kw Lux Power Inverter & 2 X Dyness BX51100 Battries. I am selling one of my battries to a family member and going to add. 5 X 455 Solar Panels onto the system instead. We use very small amounts of the battery during load shedding around 15% over two hours as one battery. Our house is a small town house and we use around a R1000 electricaty a month. Will 5 X 455 panels be enough to help with the electricaty bill and help charge the battries? Is it a stupid idea to sell one of the battries to do solar sooner? Many thanks in advance.

Connecting two Dyness BX51100 together
Yes, it's communicating with the battery. It says 100ah and it's happy. I think you might have logged into my inverter originally off the lux power group and updated it for me.

Connecting two Dyness BX51100 together
Thank you very much! Any idea how I would change it to 200ah or does an installer have to do it? Many thanks

Connecting two Dyness BX51100 together
Hi Everyone, I have a Lux SNA5000 with one Dyness BX51100 connected. I bought a second one and need some assistance connecting it as no one is interested in helping with a small job. So far I know one positive cable must be on one battery and one negative cable on the other battery and then both batteries connected with the parallel cables. The earth can I bridge together? Lan cable from inverter to battery one in port? Battery one to battery two bridge lan ports out to in port? What should both batteries dip switches be on. Currently battery running is on dip 3. Would any settings need to be changed on the inverter side? At the moment it's running perfectly. Thanks again

Solar Panels VS Second Battery
Thanks Bobster, I have decided to go with the panels! How does it work when there is power from grid does the house run off the battery or does the battery simply stay at 100% and when the power goes off run off PV and battery? Don't really want the battery cycling up and down all day. Thanks again

Solar Panels VS Second Battery
Hi everyone, Looking for some advice might be a a stupid question but not sure what route to go. I have a Lux SNA5000 and one Dyness 5kw battery. I have a had a quote for 4 X 470 watt solar panels and it comes to a similar price of another battery. During a two hour load shed I use about 10% battery and a four hour load shed around 20% During load shedding if it gets much worse I want to be able to keep the house going. Would it be better to do another battery or solar panels? Thanks in advance Daniel

Inverter Repairs Cape Town
Hi Everyone, We had two Lux Power SNA5000 installed with a Dyness battery. The first installer did such a terrible job that we had the whole installation re done. Unfortunately the first installer damaged the secondary inverter. Suspected issue as per new installer is: "Inverter is giving EPS high voltage, its normally indicative of a blown IC rectifier on the UPS side" See error code lists below. Is there any companies that can repair these inverters? I have ordered a new one but this one is literally brand new. Many thanks in advance Daniel

Newbie Needing Some Help Mecer 5kw Battrey Drain No Solar Panels
danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfSo I have decided to replace the inverter with a Lux SNA5000 ordered it this morning and then going to get everything re installed and setup. Apparently the Dyness battery talks perfectly with this inverter. I have had to disconnect the Dyness battery for the moment and I am back on my lead acid batteries. The installer tried everything to get Coms working but no luck. Even setup without coms with all the correct settings when the inverter is running off the grid every hour or two it would go to error code 8 (High Bus Voltage) and cut all power to the circuits the inverter was supplying to the house. Next week ill have the new inverter installed and lithium battery again and lets see how it goes.

Newbie Needing Some Help Mecer 5kw Battrey Drain No Solar Panels
danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfThank you @jumper @Psy so by the looks of things I need to get a BMS box like In the video? I have just plugged the COMS cable straight to the inverter and battery. In the video it says the lines around the battery should be flashing but mine aren't if the network cable is working and the 5th light on the battery is still flashing charging but the inverter only has 4 but isn't flashing anymore so they don't seem sinked up or is that not possible becouse the battery has 5 and inverter has 4? Is it necessary to have the communication cable if the settings are set correctly. I set it to user: Bulk charge to 56.5 Float charging to 55.5 DC Cut off 48.0 Let me know if those are correct I took them straight out the manual. Just want to make sure I don't damage the battery. Thanks again really appreciate it.

danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfHi @jumper & @Psy I Just had a 5.1kw Dyness battery connected up are you able to help me with the settings? Does the Coms cable go in the IN or OUT section of the battery? For the moment I have set the settings according to the manual: bulk charge to 56.5 float charging to 55.5 Pin To 2 for Axpert inverter What should the DC cut off be? The above and float is what the user manual said it should be. Does this all sound correct? How do you know if the coms cable is going what it's meant to be doing? Thanks again Daniel- Mecer 5kw Inverter With Dyess Battery Communication Cable
So I see the communication cable is connected into the CAN in. Shouldn't it be in the out option so that the battery let's the inverter know what to do? For the moment I have set: bulk charge to 56.5 float charging to 55.5 Pin To 2 for Axpert inverter What should the DC cut off be? The above and float is what the user manual said it should be. - Mecer 5kw Inverter With Dyess Battery Communication Cable
Hi Everyone, I have a Mecer 5kw SOL-I-AX-5VP inverter that was setup with 4 X deep cycle batteries. We have connected up a Dyness 5kw lithium battery and have adjusted the settings to lithium option on the inverter and connected up the network cable. The installer set the dip switch to 3 on the battery but from what I can see in the manual it should be on 2 as I assume this inverter falls under Axpert device? Unfortunately I was not happy with the installer he was meant to add longer battery cables and network cables and he did not so I don't trust he has set it up correctly. Please let me know if I am correct in changing the dip switch to 2 and if there is anything else I should be checking? Many thanks for the help. danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfThanks very much @jumper & @Psy we have figured out what it is. The battries are perfectly fine. If I set the cut off to a safe 46 47 the unit sits on two bars as load shedding hits. If I adjust the cut off way lower the unit stays on all four bars. I am assuming it does this so that when the unit goes through those two bars it turns off as it hits the bottom. The Synapse unit was set to the default 21 and I am assuming like you have said that is very low? I have also just order a dyness 5kw battery now so quite excited about that. I am also glad there is no issue with the new inverter.- Newbie Needing Some Help Mecer 5kw Battrey Drain No Solar Panels

danieltherubin replied to danieltherubin's topic in Starting In Solar? Feel free to introduce yourselfThank you very much @Psy @jumper @Kalahari Meerkat I have adjusted all those settings and 15 minutes into load shedding it's jumped down a bar. I am not to worried about it but just hopping when I have a lithium battery installed it won't damage it. It worked perfectly with the Synapse unit so can't imagine the battries are bad after 4 months of low watt use. - Newbie Needing Some Help Mecer 5kw Battrey Drain No Solar Panels
