New ESKOM / NERSA rate and tariff proposal
Your correct @GreenFields, we have to choose full off grid or pay eskom. Corruption may be rampant on government but that doesn't mean ESKOM must provide power to our houses for free. It costs to bring power to our doors, the least we can do is pay a connection fee if we have a grid feed. We can debate about the price. I think R200 to R300 Max then +R1,50/kwh but less than R2,50/kwh for usage. If you select off grid then R0,00 payment but meter and cable must be removed from property. If the freeloaders were minimal then R100 Max connection fee would suffice to cover their transmission costs.

Internal Breaker Tripping
Probably a damaged cable somewhere. Causes a short circuit or live to ground. hard to find especially if it doesn't trip the breaker or happens randomly. I had this fault and it was a damaged wire to the outside lights. It happens sometimes if it rains or windy the wires touch ever so slightly and trips or nothing happens. Nightmare to find it.

Mr
You can but first check charge voltage and float voltage are the same or very close as not to overcharge or under charge any. You'll have to choose "USE" on battery type and set voltages according to battery specs. Preferably just 0.3v lower Currently I've paralleled AGM with Lithium. No issues at all. You won't have communication with the inverter

Minor issues and battery overvoltage MUST PV1800 Pro
I have 2 Must PV1800 Pro 5.2kW in parallel off grid with 12x12V 200ah = 600AH AGM battery bank and 12x 550W Canadian solar panels. It functions satisfactory to a degree since December 2023. 1st issue is when battery is full only the master inverter throttles PV production whilst the other gives full PV power available and thus battery overvoltage then loss of synchronisation alarm (84) comes and reboots itself within 60 seconds and continues working fine there after. 2nd issue is the dataloggers is giving me exact same values of production but the inverter screen is different by a big mmargin like 60W and 2.4kW on the other. This hhappens during the 1st issue when the battery is full and no meaningful load (not sure if this is the amateur float bug or not) Questions 1. Can I use Lead settings to reduce chance of overvoltage? AGM charges at 57,6V and LEAD at 56,8V well below the 58V overvoltage. 2. Is there implications for charging at 56.8V instead of 57.6V? 3. If i parallel every 12V battery will this lead to balanced battery? 4. Should I enable equalization on these AGM batteries? Narada 12V 200ah 3. What can I use to monitor the 2 inverters and see correct PV production and Load ?

Over voltage problem with Voltronic Axpert IV (5600W) inverter
Post your inverter specs, as stated before, it looks lite it maxes out at 450V and operation is 120V to 430V. This is close to 420V made by your panels at battery full. A slight temp drop then it might exceed the 430V and switch off. The MPPT does not control Voltage only current. That's why they always speak of magic smoke if you exceed Voltage, unless your inverter has protection.

What qualifications do you need to be a qualified Installer
There is no such qualification for installation of inveters, solar or batteries. There is a qualification for testing and certification of electrical installations known as Wiremans licence. This wiremans is required by many companies for warranty purposes as it proves the system is operating correctly with required electrical protections. It also is required by insurance incase of You can install and hire a qualified person(Wiremans licence) to certify and write the COC. This is what most companies do. They have a in-house Wiremans person who certify what their labourer did and fix any mistakes. You can add your own certificates from inverter/solar/battery companies to better understand their system and prove to customers your legit otherwise learn as much as you can online and manuals.

Breaker between inverter and solar panels trips near midday on sunny days
Hhmmmm now I'm a bit worried on the DC breaker not failing. Wouldn't that fry the inverter when the voltage is exceeded if the breaker doesn't fail/trip? Does that mean we actually don't have overvoltage protection on our inverters only current?

Breaker between inverter and solar panels trips near midday on sunny days
CBI Electric QYD18U250B0 Circuit breaker Suitable for PV fuse 50A 80 V DC I don't know where they sell it. That would work. Edit: what I did is use Fuse and Circuit Breaker. Example you would use a Fuse of 50A then a Breaker of 63A 80V DC. I believe the Fuse will blow if you exceed 50A or Breaker with fail if you exceed 80V. @Coulomb what happens to the breaker if my panels exceed the voltage. Say I have 20A 500V DC breaker but panels add up to 550V?

Breaker between inverter and solar panels trips near midday on sunny days
What is Max Volts and Amps on your inverter solar input? You need to use that value not your panels. Your actually trying to not blow the inverter with too high voltage not the amps. Say your inverter says 60A 80V then you need a breaker that's say DC 63A 80V. If you exceed 63A it will trip or if you exceed 80V also it trips. That's how I understand it, anyway I'm not electrician, I just work with electricity.

Loadshedding problem with inverter
You need to provide enough information for people to help out. Inverter brand?, battery?, any solar panels? Then settings.

Paralel inverters in Sbu with one pv string
You can certainly do that.. I did it for two weeks, no problem whatsoever. I just could not monitor the solar power as the other inverter was reporting no PV and somehow the MUST PV1800 Pro chose the lower value. Currently running unbalanced panels on two parallel 5.2kW MUST PV1800 pro with 8 on one and 4 on the other. Solar power Monitor and Smartess only Reporting 4 panels per inverter. 🙄. Now the 2nd question of damage to battery or inverter, I'm not sure as I'm new to this solar technology. I will see what happens... but I did have 2 error 82 (synchronisation error) which stays there for 90 seconds and resets itself. If you drop output breakers it syncs immediately then put them up again.

Sunpower - Crown Mines (Possible fake panels?)
I got 4 of those Canadian solar 545W from sunpower, they actually produced about 3kw today, they should be max 2180W but consistently produce more than spec. I installed them about 10 degrees angle on a zinc roof with 10mm2 cable near Marloth Park, its a hot place. 1 panel was R1750 on 20 December 2023. Note 8 x Canadian 550W I bought from solarsuppliers was R1850 each, so not far from sunpower ones. They also produce 5000W from 4400W installed. I'm confused why as I was expecting less not more than spec. I didn't even check if any are genuine, i just installed them. Hopefully they don't prematurely die on me.

MUST PV1800 5.2kW Parallel Offgrid
Thanks, I looked into the pressure tank. Decided to go with panels on the 2nd inverter. Installed 4 x 550W , still unbalanced as it's half of the other inverter. This has proved to be the best solution as battery now charges fully by 3pm while supporting normal load. Just a FYI: on SmartESS the inverter now shows solar power but limited to 4 panels 🤔 i guess it needs equal panels but doesn't make sense as panel mounting angles are different anyway thus producing different power.

MUST PV1800 5.2kW Parallel Offgrid
i'm trying but the Wife and kids are stubborn... cooking and bathing late. we usually wake up at 48V (500~700W load at night). i have not reached full battery on solar, usually 51.8V by 6pm never seen float voltage (54.1V). when the app was working i could see it made max 31kWh and min 7kWh i have 0.75kW pump that turns on every now and then due to kids using water, probably keeping batteries from reaching full charge. i set stop charging at 100% but not sure how it calculates that.

MUST PV1800 5.2kW Parallel Offgrid
Hi guys i upgraded 🤔 from FiveStar 6500W inverter ongrid no solar to two MUST PV1800 Pro 5.2kW inverters with 8 x 550W Canadian Solar Panels totally offgrid. all bought from solarsuppliers installation went well on a single inverter with panels connected, all visible on SmartESS app. fans are very loud compared to Fivestar at +2.5kW usage and worse when solar charging. issue started when i paralleled the inverters. i did do a questionable thing of putting all 8 panels on 1 inverter and 0 on the other due to budget constraints. now i get no more information about solar charging just battery voltage going up or down. inverter screen does show charge light and solar input(Voltage/Apps/kW). odd thing is the software SolarPowerMonitor 2.81 also does not show MMPT information. it just says stopped but display has correct information🤔 can someone help if there is something needed to be done to view all the information. i plan to add another 8 Panels to have 8 panels per inverter and but that will be next year late. these panels are giving me more than their spec sometimes usually in the morning 9am to 12pm System: Inverter: 2 x MUST PV1800 Pro 5.2kW , 1 MMPT 450V, 18A, 6000W Battery: AGM - 200Ah x 12 (600Ah) Solar: Canadian Solar 550MS Solar Safety: 600V DC SPD, 20A Fuse, 500V 20A Breaker Battery Safety: 200A Breaker--> 125A Fuse -> 125A Breaker Output AC Safety: 40A Breaker, 63A Earthleakage, 63A Disconnect Input AC Grid: Not Used

Five Star 8.5kva inverter, axpert or clone
I'm using this inverter for +3months now. Works well so far, no issues of charging, switching on loadshedding. Only think I noticed is slight light flick when my pressure pump kicks in. Load went as high as 5.4kw with no sweat but both fans spinning very fast. I put everything except the kitchen stove/oven breaker.
