  1. Doesnt look like there is a solution for this. Mine is just taking up too much space for no reason at home at the moment. Its also such a terrible thing to load into the car and take all the way to Mustek for diagnostics. I suppose I will find motivation when LS reappears.
  2. I have also opened it up and disconnected the bettery for a few minutes to do a hard reset but the issue persists.
  3. Hi all. I am having this same issue after my battery ran flat during moving home. I have tried these steps but when i hold the battery button down, nothing happens. The decice does not reset. Am i missing something. At the moment the battery does not charge and the moment i remove the power cable it turns off.
  4. I've had the software update done quite some time ago, and I have always had that clicking. I am sure i mentioned it somewhere in the early pages of this thread. It happens at any time of the day regardless of the batteries being fully charged or connected items being on or off. I do not have lights connected to mine so cannot confirm the dipping when clicking occurs. I have not noticed any such issues with the connected equipment.
  5. Hi all, Can anyone advise on a suitable solar panel to add to these units? Also, is it worthwhile actually adding a solar panel to one of these? 6. You should be able to press the up and down arrows to change display values (without first pressing the menu button)
  7. Same with mine since the software was updated. Noticed recently it has dropped to 0% and got stuck there. Pressing the battery button resets it to correct reading again.
  8. When I took Mine in on 13 March, they said they would have the updating "device" until then end of the day, as it would be going to PE on the 14th, and then this would be sent to another branch after a few days as all branches are sharing one of these mysterious devices. If you have a Mecer unit then contact Mustek PE asap.
  9. Yes I have. If it is a Mecer unit, contact Mustek support in Richmond to arrange. They will be getting the device to update firmware again in a few weeks. Mine took less than an hour to update.
  10. Had my firmware updated at Mustek yesterday. Been through two sessions of LS since its been returned, and it has charged back up to 100% on both occasions. So far, so good considering mine has been sitting at 0% for the past 2 weeks or so. According to them, the upgrade requires a specific "device" and cannot be done remotely or by anyone else. They currently have only one of these devices that is shared between branches. I had to rush mine in yesterday as they only had this device until end of the day before it would be sent to a different branch. They will next have one of these devices in CPT in "a few weeks." Just a question regarding charge current, I have set mine to 40%. I only lose around 20% charge during LS so there is more than enough time to charge up to 100%. Would this make any difference for the batteries or should I just leave it at a higher or even 100% charge current?
  11. Mine does the random 3 beeps as well. Very annoying. I also noticed it randomly makes that clicking noise, same as when it switches from battery to mains. Is CNBM in JHB only? I have not heard back from Mustek yet but I assume there would be a long waiting period to get mine back just for them to do a simple firmware upgrade.
  12. I managed to charge mine for 8 hours straight before using it, didnt make any difference.
  13. Ok but as far as we can all see the charging never stops, regardless of what percentage is displayed. For instance, the issue starts with it charging to 99%, but then it never stops charging once at 99% or less.
  14. Ok so its a a manufacturing issue then. All fine if they manage to repair it, but how do we know that the batteries have not been already damaged by incorrect charging from the current boards?
  15. It worked as normal, just disturbing seeing it at 0% all the time 😆
  16. Checked mine this morning for the first time since last week when it was over 80%. It is now at 0% but still running as it should 😬 Aaaaand LS just kicked in. We are down from 8 to 12:30 so lets see how this goes.
  17. This is interesting. So even once it gets to 0% they should continue to work? All the excuses about "SOC not displaying correctly" would make a bit more sense if it showed it stopped charging at some point. As it is it seems the batteries are constantly on charge. I am still wondering if this doesnt have something to do with the overcharge protection feature or something. It seems Mustek are clueless on this issue. I got mine back after a week of them doing absolutely nothing to test it (This was confirmed by them). At least I am getting some use out of it for now. Very frustrating though.
  18. Identical, except for branding of course.
  19. Its not just the Kool Energy units, Mine is a 2kw Mecer with Lithium batteries and the exact same issue. The only feedback i received from Mustek so far is that its "an ongoing investigation"
  20. I will try to find out what exactly they did. I dont think it was much though, as mine left with 94% charge and came back with 93%. Could be coincidence that they charged it fully then discharged to 93% or could be that they did nothing at all.
  21. Just an update from my side... I contacted Mustek support JHB, the guy who takes the calls there told me they are aware of this issue and I would need to take the inverter to Mustek CPT for repairs. They could not give me any further info on what needs to be repaired, and would not allow me to speak directly with a technician. So last Monday, I had it taken to Mustek CPT. The unit was sitting at 94% when it left. The feedback I received from Mustek is that they basically have no fix for this issue. No replacement parts or software updates. I advised them to contact their JHB team for instruction but apparently they could not get answers from them either. 🤔 I eventually got them to return the unit to me on Friday, with the agreement that they would contact me once there is a solution. Immediately when I got it back on Friday, I saw it was on 93% and loadshedding was about to start for us. I plugged the unit in and everything powered as normal. BUT, after LS, it charged back up to 100% 🤔🤔 . It did the same after the next LS slot, then following one it sat at 99% so seems to be dropping again. I notice the Mecer and Kool Energy units both have "Overcharge Protection" listed as a feature, however there is not a lot of info explaining how this works. Could it not be that the inverter is protecting the batteries by keeping them from fully charging, especially when minimal battery life is used during LS? In my case, 4 hours of LS uses less than 30% if all my connected items are in use. Basically mine just went to Mustek for a break and came back ready to work 🤔
