You mean just cycle the battery and use up its life anyway without having the benefit of storage of free solar power at this time.

Exactly where I am now. And the two pylontech 5000 batteries are now at 99% charge with 0.15kw charging (trickle charge?) My thinking is that I don’t want to cycle (use) the battery except for the unavoidable power dips sometimes 1hour long. So I am leaving the battery now to the BATTERY MANAGEMENT. Not sure if that is right or best though.

Ok but then why is the the option to tick or select it? I had my tou setting at charge to 73% at all times with discharge only happening with utility power fail. I have unticked that option then a immediately all the time settings were greyed out and the battery charging resumed, I assume to now charge to 100%.

What is the operation mode then? At this time after moving I have no solar power yet. So my 8kw Deye is up and running as “UPS” only. How should I manage the battery during this time?

How do you know the BMS is working and communicating. I installed last night to UP5000 Pylontech and Deye 8kW and Ok the cable is plugged on CAN but how do you know it is working correctly? System is selected to Lithium and charges the battery etc. But where do I see any proof of communication or datat logging or whatever. I am new to this and thus completely stupid

I mean what does that switch switch? The Battery or the PV dc or both?
