donatoliu reacted to Chris Hobson in Software based SOCEver since I discovered that the Axpert has worthless state of charge(SOC) readings I have felt that with a bit of lateral thinking one could develop a reasonably accurate SOC from the battery amp readings that are readily available from the inverter. After all it does have an internal shunt and so should be able to give us some sense of SOC. I have been playing with data from Emoncms and this is the result.
I include the feed from the BMV and the inverter's own SOC calculation for comparison. I am pleased with the result. The first thing I did was convert my battery bank Ah value into Ampseconds. I did this for two reasons:
The handling of the data after this conversion was relatively simple Converting the Amp feed into Ah resulted in small numbers which of had a recurring decimal number which the computer would truncate and introduce errors. So I have upgraded (not really) and have a 936000As battery bank. It looks impressive but it is not really. If anyone is prepared to send me the data from their inverter I would like to test my ideas on more data - preferably from one 100% SOC peak through one or two charge cycles until a 100% SOC is achieved again. I would need inverter battery amps and BMV SOC for this period.

I wanted to share with you this view with emoncms, just to let you see the potential of this platform.

donatoliu reacted to kg666 in ICC Windowsit is simular as my invertor pip4048MSD , only with 1 mppt tracker + if value (of some things) are 0 in emon, if the inverter doesnt know the command, it will be 0, don't use it in emon... its not that bad.. (and i see you do good in emon , you only log what is needed)
but indeed if pvwatt1 is 0 , thats not good, if pvwatt2 is 0, thats normal , because you dont have 2 mppt trackers...

donatoliu got a reaction from kg666 in ICC Windowsthe problem was in the ICC version. Now I read all values. However mine is Mppsolar pip4048ms which is similar all'axpert. The connection is USB.

donatoliu reacted to Czauto in ICC WindowsSorry. I see the actual download link is down. @Manie will have to assist there and I'm sure he's already on it.
Let's just say like an actual roadside sign I saw some time ago at a stop n go system "We adore your patients" Bloomin' idiots!!

donatoliu reacted to Czauto in ICC WindowsYou can download it at http://iccsoftware.co.za/download-2/
You'll need to PM @Manie for a trial key and if you're happy with the software (which I'm 100% sure you will be) you can pay hom and he"ll send you a license key.
Installation is a blast. 1:Download 2: Install 3: connect usb cable between Inverter and PC/Laptop running windows 4: Insert security key supplied by @Manie 5: click the little "on" button on the app and enjoy. From there you setup your PVoutput and Emoncms settings and look at the pretty pictures
Did I explain correctly @Manie?
