I would return that one, You can measure the voltage if you open the box. I would not accept the battery with a voltage below 12.6V out of the box.

I am verry new to PI & linux so I might not understand what you said I used the PI image on ICC website. It looks to me that the install is done on the desktop, is this correct ? Can one download the newest version & paste it into the same folder ?

Verry good price Max charging amps for a single string 30A. Max charging for 5kva 60A solar + 60A utility. Just limit the max charging amps in your settings. But my experience you can leave it on 60A due to the agm battery drawing less & less amps the higher the soc. So at 50% DOD the batteries does not pull anything close to 30A. You cannot push amps into a battery. It draws what is required. But you can limit the initial current draw. Yes they will work for you.

Upgraded at last, when I upgrade through the app, my ICC always stops working & throws some error in the terminal window. So I always re-flash the SD then upgrade with no problem. (I also loose my old data ) I like the graph in dashboard 2

Good day Chris. I have installed a Freedomwon bank on an axpert inverter. Quite easy, they set the BMS parameters a bit further for the axpert (Still within range) you set the charging voltage 55.6V for float & bulk charge. the axpert throws full amps into the batteries & once it reaches the set volts the amps tapers down to about 1A & they are full. Annycase, they are expensive initially. Have a look at these, I think mantech made a booboo with their price on these. I bought x8, 2 weeks ago, with 4 voltage meters on each 12v battery. I also did a H bridge connection between the parallel banks for balancing. The DG range of batteries does about 1100 cycles @ 50% http://www.mantech.co.za/ProductInfo.aspx?Item=370M0075

OK, thank you for the feedback V2.1.5 running well so far on USB inverters. Parallel & single. V2.1.5 RS232 through USB converter running well but there are some minor glitches like the PV trend is on the front panel not on the PV tab etc. Funny thing One of the 3 Pi's has the axpert settings (This is new, you can adjust all the axpert settings from ICC) in the settings tab "The single 3kva inverter" the other two was updated the same way but does not have these settings (Mannie confirmed this was only available for 3KVA single unit) Lovely 2nd dashboard with colored analog indicators, can be adjusted as you wish.

Icc reads the two inverters as a single mppt & plots the values as one. So the graph does not show the mppt "hunting" So my question to the experts, do you think the system is currently producing what is should considering the 4 series panels (4*3)*2 instead of the suggested 3 series panels (3*4)*2 ?

Well there are only 1 mppt per inverter. Not two. But we have two inverters. Can ICC show the PV volts & amps of both inverters independantly ? Currently its flashing the one then the other every 3-4 seconds on mppt1, mppt2 is always 0. Can it be that the west side is the high amps & the east side the low amps at that time of day ? So early in the morning there is a huge difference, midd day no difference & late it goes to the difference in amps of east & west strings ?

Only one value came through when I pressed start in ICC, manny fixed it. thank you manny Does somebody know if the PI cn be powered from the USB port on the axpert ? I will biuld a flylead that plugs into the normal port in the inverter & normal usb on the pi. I wiil then tap the two 5 V +&- wires to power the Pi via a micro usb. ? But I do not know if the usb port gives out power. This is for a friend of mine, I still have the RS232 inverter.

Good day I had a faulty panel on one string that pulled the whole inverters PV input down. I was a bit "stout" & left the strings as is. 4 panels, 3strings. I was only charging the battery & house today. Please see the atached picture of the output. Question: I am using the windows ICC version. Notice the red voltage graph below. Is it normal to go coloring in like that or is it a function of the mppt & high volts running 4 panels in series ?

Good day My pi works fine with usb however I have an 5kva rs232 inverter. If I start icc only one string comes through an then it stops. I have tried two serial to usb converters. Latest pi version. Must you give the rs232 permisions or something ?

That is the next step. I normally isolate the PV arry with the isolator(DC), remove the fuses(DC), test the strings one by one for Voc. refuse one string, switch back isolator & see what the string gives me. It sould either be the inverter or pannel array ? I will give you feedback as soon as I tested it. One question, If the inverter has an issue. Can I connect the total of 2x6 strings (4500W) to a single inverter while the one is away? & one sets the max charging current as applicable to the battery ? This will give you max charging amps early in the day & give you a flat topped curve instead of a nice wave ?

Rewired the panels to 3panels x 6 strings, 3 EAST, 3 WEST Midday I got 1680W (slave) from the one inverter & 800W (Master) from the second inverter. Although it was overcast the difference is huge. The one inverter sees a input of 90V from the 3 strings & the other sees an input of 60v ? from the three strings. Something seems to be bad, I highly doubt it is the wiring. will double check in any case. Eskom is connected as backup.

Jip, I loaded the inverter with about 5KW, the total load from the 6KW panels only supplied about 2985W. The axpert is set to suppy "max solar power = charging + connected load" Interestingly today in centurion I got about an average of 1000-1500W from the panels. It was overcast for the whole day. This output seems to be quite good for the conditions. but on a sunny day it is quite a different story. As pilotfish mentioned, two axperts in parallel, each with its single mppt connected to 3KW PV. Sharing a single battery bank.

Ok , so this will affect the MPPT charger ? Will 3 panel strings work better than 4 panel series strings or are you scared the MPPT wil burn. I did the 3 panel cheat & it seems to be better siuted for the MPPT range. Is it better to run the MPPT at the highest point or lowest point ? What %output difference do you normally expect from winter to summer ? Rensola 3x8 strings.pdf
