  1. sorry to dig this up but any idea which columns show the following Volts and Amps from each PV string connected to the inverter. This is very handy to evaluate effectiveness of the solar panels' vertical angle and/or azimuth, or even just to identify a drop in solar harvest caused by dirt on your panels...
  2. back again, so I have been keeping an eye on my system and I am hoping someone can tell me why every morning between 1 and 3 am my system seems to switch over to use my battery? Is it because the setting is 40?
  3. got my access changed to advanced, cant find the refresh rate though?
  4. all leds, quite a lot of the battery backup led globes for pre solar
  5. no not the lights, going to go through all my appliances and see where that constant draw is coming from
  6. ja I mean the only thing we really run at night are our outside lights and looking back at the days before the load goes down at about 6 when the wife gets up and switches the outside lights off
  7. so weird one, we had load shedding between 4 - 6 this morning, when we got up at about 5:45 the grid/system was off, grid came back on at 6 and the system came back online shortly after that... as far as I am aware we had power for the rest of the night last night so I am not sure why we would have run out of battery? The wifi dongle alos doesnt seem to have reconnected since an hour ago? 2305178855-2023-10-06,2023-10-06_share.xlsx
  8. we have load shedding usually on the following times/days monday between 08:00 - 10:00 tuesday between 00:00 - 02:00 16:00 - 18:00 wednesday between 02:00 - 04:00 18:00 - 20:00 thursday between 06:00 - 08:00 friday between 04:00 - 06:00 12:00 - 14:00 saturday between 02:00 - 04:00 14:00 - 16:00 sunday between 20:00 - 22:00
  9. this is where we are now, my wife has the stove on so that would explain the high load right now..
  10. hey Carl, you are right we do about 2880w during midday I have seen it higher. The need for the system is both. I mean load shedding has dropped a bit and I need the system to lower my cost to eskom/ethekewini so a balance I guess. I can download the data export and send that through if it would help?
  11. OK setting s changed, can I ask what the power column is for why is it at 2000 for 6-9 and 9 -15?
  12. OK so panels are Canadian solar hiku mono perc solar panel 450w
  13. I will go take a picture of the settings but my understanding is that we have the inverter set to use the battery and obviously solar during the day and I did an exercise where I checked our meter at 6am then again at 6pm then again at 6am the next day and between 18:00 and 6 am we used 18 units and between 6 and 18 when solar should be giving me the most we used 29 units which doesnt make any sense, generally at night we have about 3 TVs going my sons xbox fans in each of the rooms and all the lights. During the day I have my PC on and perhaps 1 tv?? 2023-27-09 93624 17:54:00 2023-28-09 93642 05:55:00 2023-28-09 93653 18:06:00
  14. Hi All I had a solar install done, its a 5.5kv sunsynk, hubble 48v and 8 panels. Really happy with the install and the system overall is great. We keep logs of our suage at the meter to give it to ethkewini for our billing and have noted our daily average has gone from 24 kwh/day average to 29 kwh/day average and that doesnt make sense to me?
  15. I understand, but my idea was to start with lower cost batteries now as its really only for the 2 hour load shedding slots at the moment and then save towards proper lithium batteries for my long term goal which is to be self powered but still linked to the grid.
  16. which hubble were you talking about teh 5kva hubble I saw was R32,880.00 ??
  17. thanks for the advice Bobster, yip I didnt realize the Axpert was a 48V so I need 4 x 12V and I have heard good things about the hubble so I may go that route.
  18. any advice on a gel 48v battery? I know I should be going to lithium but I really dont have the funds to go that route right now
  19. Thanks Everyone Obviously the idea here is to add onto the system, we never use the kettle and things like that in load shedding so would do the same with the inverter until the system can manage that. Any pros/cons on the luxpower or axpert inverters?
