Hello Ziyaad671 -I'm looking for a (one) Pylontech US2/3000, whereabouts are you & roughly what price are you looking at if you'll part with just one?
  2. Hello pjaxed, are any of the US3000C batteries still available? If so please can you let me have your contact details to discuss? I'm in Midrand, so easy for collection. I would like to add to my existing US3000C battery.
  3. Hello Joman, I'm interested in buying 1 of your Pylontech US2000 batteries, do you still have them for sale? Please can you let me know your phone number to contact you for more details. I'm in Midrand, so would be easy for me to collect if I decide to go ahead & buy one! I would like to add another batt to my existing Pylontech US3000C.

  5. Hello again Bob, just come back to the site & seen your last reply. Not long after my last post I had the inspection with City Power (& Pure Energy in attendance) - all passed & have the Registration letter. Blessing took R1000.00 off from his original price (said my system was quite simple) He gave good service & even helped in the end to push City Power to correct some mistakes they made (twice!) on the Registration Letter. I'm still on the Pre-paid Tarif, yes when I asked I was told City Power are not yet ready to implement the TOU tariff's yet! I agree, it was worthwhile having Pure Energy take care of the whole process of getting the system registered with Joburg City Power - at least I have peace of mind that it's all legal & compliant, plus now paying less to COJ than when I was on the post pay tariff system (by close to R1K per month!) Also back when I was on the post pay tariff, COJ were ripping me off with inflated/estimated readings & cutting off our power, even after we lodged a dispute (including a letter to the Ombudsman) - can't do that now with the Pre-pay meter!
  6. Sipho have you informed your electricity supplier about the broken switch? That would be a good place to start & also ask them about payment when you have no electricity coming from the meter.
  7. Hello again Bobster, I have contacted Blessing from "Pure Energy Solutions" about Registering our Solar System with City Power (3.3 kW panels & 3000 VA Victron Inverter with 3500 Wh Pylontech Batt.) He has come back to me & quoted R5000.00 (excl. VAT) for the process (no sight visit as yet!) Is this in the rough region of what you paid about one year ago? Hope I can still get away with remaining on Pre-paid contract as we are only "grid tied" (No Export!)
  8. Hello again Bobster thanks for reply. We did apply in June for a pre-pay meter & received the quote. However they told us that we have to pay the (disputed) outstanding amount on our COJ bill before they can start the process of converting to Pre-pay electricity. We have on ongoing dispute with our electricity account going back to around July 2023, presently standing at around R20K. About a year ago we contacted the Ombudsman to help resolve our dispute, but to date he has not got to our case saying they are still busy with cases from 2022! In March 2023 we had a new meter fitted, as our electricity supply had failed. Now before the meter was replaced we had been having Estimated readings for the previous 5 months. The following 3 months we still received Estimated reading on our monthly statements. So this makes it clear the reading was not recorded with whoever makes up the account (old meter reading when replaced) WE complained & they tried to reconcile the account but it came back even worse with dates that made no sense etc. About 3 months before our meter failed & was replaced I had fitted an energy meter at our DB to get some idea of our consumption before fitting a solar system. From this energy meter I picked-up that they were way over-estimating our consumption. Also from July 2022 (at time of COJ Tariff increase) they upped our Network charge to the 80A rate & have kept it there since then. WE have disputed this charge with them as-well, but they say because we have raised it with the Ombudsman we have to wait until the Ombudsman deals with it! These disputes have now racked up to around R20k (with interest & VAT included) This is why I posted the question on the Forum, to bring it to others attention & see if anyone else has had similar experiences. Hopefully I can get some more information before going to speak to Lawyers, as we all know how expensive that can be! Do I pursue the dispute (with lawyer as well as Ombudsman) or do I suck it up & pay the disputed amount & convert to pre-pay as soon as possible?
  9. Anyone out there still being charged for a 60A beaker - Network charge of R694.58 per month?
  10. Has anyone with COJ supply, with a 60A breaker being charged for a 80A breaker on their Network charge? COJ upped our Network charge in August 2023 to an 80A breaker for no reason at all (we still have the same breaker) This has resulted in us being charged R763.77 instead of R694.58 (before VAT) When we queried this at City Power (Midrand branch) they said we have been "Upgraded" to an 80A breaker & that they no longer do a 60A breaker Network charge, although it is clearly shown on their "Final Tariff for 2024-2025" on their website - what a rip-off?
  11. Many thanks Bobster for the info, will try that!
  12. WE have been dealing with the local COJ office (in Midrand - Halfway House) but they are not at all helpful!
  13. We are in Vorna Valley (Midrand) & the meter is an I-Tron EM420i. Not sure where to get phone number for CP in our area, but if we get to speak to any CP worker that's helpful I think they could tell us who to call?
  14. Do you know what make of meter your friend has? (is it same as in photo above?) Also, please can you get me the phone No. of the CP person she contacted, as we have had (over) estimated readings for the last 5 months even though we have been sending in photo's!
  15. Jay - we have the I-Tron "Smart Meter" (see attachment) & recently have even been using a Newspaper for the date (for whatever that's worth!) when submitting the photo. Our smart meter was not supplied with the "In House Unit" so we need to go outside to the meter box on the pavement to read & photograph it. Presently we have a "dispute" with COJ regarding our billing & have reported it to the Ombudsman (over 8 months ago!) Still waiting for dispute to be resolved as we would like to change to a Pre-paid contract, but COJ says they will not change the contract until we pay the disputed/outstanding amount (or sign an acknowledgement of debt!) Would a photo of this quality be accepted from your experience?
  16. There is no consistency, often it is an Estimate, we have tried sending in a photo, it worked a few months ago but now that also seems to be a waste of time as they don't use the reading, a mess!
