I've had same problem ..have 8kw deye inverter and the dongel has no led lights showing. I have tried it on my brother's inverter and it works. 
Not sure way forward from here.
Any advise?

Was your logger problem solved? Have same issue on Deye 5kw inverter. All leds are dead. Unplugging logger had no effect. All was working fine for 7 months. Not sure if it is a logger or port problem? 

When I was overseas I discovered logging stopped about one year after installation. Back home no lights were on on the Solarman stick logger.
Reset button had no effect. Thought logger was broken. Finally after some weeks I disconnected the logger and inserted it again in the inverter and voila:  Logging started again. 
Could not imagine it was that simple.

Assuming you are in South Africa, start talking to ICASA, I believe by law 12 months guarantee is on new equipment being sold (or more if the manufacturer deems it to be so), which means the supplier has to sort out failures during this period.
