Stephan van Tonder got a reaction from ibiza in Solis S6 6kW Inverter, 5kWh SVolt Lithium Battery & 8 x 555W LONGi ModulesI literally charged the battery from the grid once to get it full before loadshedding hit us and just to see what it will soak up. Rest of the days so far has been off Pv. Last night took us down to 63% and with solar this morning at 09:00 it was full. I have no intention of paying escom to charge the battery 😜

Stephan van Tonder got a reaction from Scorp007 in Solis S6 6kW Inverter, 5kWh SVolt Lithium Battery & 8 x 555W LONGi ModulesThanks Steve. This is my install and I am very happy with it so far. Just about on a week now. The equipment seems really good quality and it just works. Yes the initial setup with getting the wifi connected seems to be very counter intuitive but we finally got there. The solis cloud also now has time based settings but we basically chucked those out after day three when we went full export mode for all the excess solar. The ability for the inverter to run a full essential and non essential was what I wanted in the first place. It does it perfectly. Some of my friends was terribly worried about the no fans. Well the highest temp I saw this far was 58 degrees on a 34 degree day while i let it fill the battery from grid at 6000 watt. I am really impressed and very happy with the machine this far.
Then that little slimline S-volt battery was my second surprise. It was cheap and it is really impressive how you can charge that guy. Definitely a 1c battery and the comms was just straight from the word go. We just selected the pylontech protocol and voila. Done.
I have seen three days of easily just over 4000 watt output from the panels as well and what I paid for those from leroy merlin definitely made those worth while. All and all very very happy. I also managed to get solar assistant working on it with a R- pi 4 via the modbus. They don’t have modification support for the solis yet but metrics are working. Will look at home assistant and the dashboards soon.
Once more thanks to steve and his team, great great guys to work with and it all just worked. COC done as well and really just happiness. Today we exported more to the grid than what we used in the house.
