I raised all this with the company, and they agreed that the marketing was misleading but assured me that it was not intentional, but rather a matter of tech people writing the marketing material. Their site has been updated and they've committed to replacing my inverter with a 6 Kw (AC load) model.

I see nothing like that in this spec sheet.
A 6500W Inverter will supply 6500W, thats the industry standard.
