  1. Great idea, thanks. I have used this same Armadac for transformer-to-transformer connections in irrigation systems, at 3.3kV ... not difficult to get, though most suppliers like to sell 500m drums on
  2.    Sidewinder reacted to a post in a topic: DC Current PV behavior
  3. Have you tried changing the strings on the inverter - also a bit of a schlep, but at lease you will see if the issue stays with the MPPT, then that is at fault. IF the issue migrates to the other MPPT with the string, then the issue is with the string of panels (somehow, to be determined), but at lease you can rule out either the inverter or the strings.
  4. Try getting sunsynk help on the phone - I have found them very helpful with deeper technical issues ... I assume you're in ZA 010 100 3589
  5. can you plot the inverter's internal temperatures over the same time-frame as the pv anomaly ? .... maybe at around mid-day one inverter is much hotter (or thinks it is) and then throttles pv power to compensate
  6. That's what they made Baby Powder for !
  7. Yup, I see your point, but it just seems pointless since the structure is freestanding, and 80 meters from the building. Will put one in anyway - as you say, in the greater scheme of things, it is small cost. For pulling wiring through - I use a domestic vacuum cleaner to suck a cotton wad and nylon line through, then use that to pull the wiring
  8. hanks everyone for your responses. I have decided to run 2+ve RED and 2-ve Black solar wires in a pvc pipe. 6mm Since the panels and their concreted-in Galv steel frame will be well earthed (With CCS spikes too), There will be fusing and surge arrestors at both ends of the 80 meter run, there is no need for a separate earth wire between panels and inverter - right ?
  9. Thanks. The array Voc is 905v, Isc is 28A - (MPPT range is 200~1000v) I am thinking 10mm 4-core to carry both arrays (18 panels per string, 2 strings in parallel per array) Cheers
  10. Hi, All. I need to connect an array of panels to the Isolator/Surge Db which will be in the inverter-room. The ground-mounted panels are about 80 meters away. Is it acceptable to use SWA ECC cable for the underground run ? Also - It would be great if I could run 2 strings on one 4-core cable. Also - what size would you-all recommend, in sq mm Cheers, Charles
  11. Hi Guys I am about to add 5x US3000C batteries to an existing stack of 8x US3000. As the 'C' version can address 16 batteries, and the older non-C can only address 8, I believe I need to set the Master as one of the 'C' batteries, then have batteries 2 to 8 being the non-C batteries, and the rest (9,10,11,12) can be the 'C' types. (I will then have one non-C battery spare) All good so far ... I also need to ensure all are of the same firmware version, so where and how do I get Batteryviewer and the Zip files ? Thanks for any and all help C ps. sorry for hijacking your thread, but I thought this is relevant ....
