Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Hi Coulomb, Just successfully updated to 81.08 and 22.25. But to no avail. I still get Voltage readings. Could I be doing something wrong?

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Hi Coulomb, Just a hint that it might be an idea to update the upload instructions ("Otherwise (not using the USB OTG method or the reflash tool's USB option): you will need a Windows computer and a USB-to-RS232-serial (DB9 male) adapter like the one below, or a very old computer with a real RS232 (DB9) serial port."), with an issue using a Windows 11 PC. An older cable might no longer be compatible. But a driver is available to fix the problem. It can be found here: [Fixed] Prolific PL2303TA USB to Serial Windows 11 Problem Kind regards, Kurt PS: wil try and upload the new firmware now...

Issue Firmware Upgrade with Win11 PC
Hi everyone, I just tried to upload firmware to the inverter, but WIN 11 told me that the USB to serial port converter was no longer compatible. I did however find a solution that does solve the problem easily. I thought I would share this just in case anybody else runs into the same issue. Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Hi Coulomb, I am afraid that my knowledge does not reach far enough to "know 81.07". Until a few days ago all I understood about the 90V issue, is that it resulted in a drop out of production early in the morning. (Which indeed shows up in my system every morning: The system wakes up, I get a few Watts in, and then solar production stops again, only to return about half an hour or 40 minutes later.) And I thought that was it. Not much need for a patch from that respective. Further reading in this forum now makes me think that there is more to the story and that I could get more efficiency in cloudy conditions. However, I have no idea if 1: this assumption is correct and 2: how I could establish such inefficiency in my current system. Could you provide some insight? Thank you beforehand. Kind Regards, Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
That would be fabulous Coulomb!!! I will try to install ASAP. Do you know if this version fixes the low power issue in cloudy conditions? Btw: yesterday I received the same version from the local reseller. He also provided display firmware 22.25. Are you interested? One more detail: When the batteries run dry the Axpert shuts itself down. Will it restart itself when sun hits the panels in the morning? And consequently: is there a way to prevent the Axpert from shutting down is such a way that it only blocks the AC output, but remains on? Kind regards, Kurt

AXPERT MAX II 8kw firmware
Hi Coulomb, I am running 81.07. Do I understand correctly that 81.63 is an earlier version? (not that it matters much, if I cannot use SOC, then it is of no use to me.) I also take it that, if you do not have the later firmware, it means that it does not exist yet... Greetings, Kurt

AXPERT MAX II 8kw firmware
Yes, Dessmonitor will allow you to see the voltages. In the main page under "details". You get a reading every 5 minutes or so. At the bottom of the screen you can select the pagenumber which will bring you to the toime zone that you are lokking for. It will show the Voltage, Power and many things more.

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Does anybody have any information concerning a firmware update that WILL allow SOC% in programm , etc?

Never ever got a reply on this....

AXPERT MAX II 8kw firmware
Hi Coloumb, All confusion set aside between Max and Max II, can you confirm if there is any firmware yet for the Axpert MAX II 8kW, that WILL allow SOC% in settings 12, 13 & 29? Kind regards, Kurt

Alternative to Watchpower, any recommendations?
I tried it today with an Axpert Max-ii 8kW and Pylontech Batteries. I was not really impressed. The feedback per day/month/year is better, but the main screen is not as clear as the old WatchPower. I find the new graphics too cluttered. The old one shows you the SOC at a glance. The new version will show voltage and SOC together in a little crammed window. I basically still prefer the old WatchPower over the new one.

AXPERT MAX II 8kw firmware
Thank you for the info Coulomb, but I was merely enquiring if there are more recent versions above 81.07 for the Max-II 8K and 20.22 for the display. It seems extremely hard to find such info over the net. (But I seem to remember that there is a place where you compiled a library of the firmware. Only, for the life of me, I cannot find it anywhere... But thanks anyway. Kurt

AXPERT MAX II 8kw firmware
It must be older. I have been running that version as of october 2023. I have been away for almost six months now, and I wonder if a new firmware version has been developed for the Max II - 8K. Maybe Coulomb has an idea, or even has it in his collection. Thanks beforehand for any info. Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Got it now Rozsda! Thank you for taking the trouble to explain one more time. Greetings, Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Maybe I should write to them: "How much will 1000 units that can read SOC cost, and when can I have them?"😆

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
It may boil down to translation, but I understand very little of your feedback... Anybody can shed some more light on this? Greets, Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
You are quite right, so far they have given me the silent treatment.

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
I sent this to Voltronic Power Contact Us: "Hi, I recently installed an Axpert max ii 8kW. I am contemplating installing more units in different locations, but I am missing an important feature wich seems to be working on other Axpert inverters: programming program 12 & 13 by SOC rather than Voltage. The present firmware does not allow this. Is there any chance that this might change anytime soon (like in 3-4 months)? Greetings, Kurt" Wonder whether I will get a reply. I'll keep you posted.

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Thanks for the info! At least I now know. Let's hope that Rozsda gets somewhere with his negotiations with the Axpert people... Greetings, Kurt I don't mind putting in my bit of pressure, only who is "them"? If anyone can give me an e-mail address on how to reach Axpert, I'd be happy to oblige.

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Thanks for the info... But my knowledge of coding is just about null and void. Nor do I have any experience. The question actually was: what is the difference between the 'Patched' version and the regular one? Do they work differently on a practical level, what is actually patched? (sort of hoping that you might be able to "patch" program 12 & 13 and get the SOC in there...) 🫢

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Unfortunately, this is NOT the solution... And I guess that running the firmware for the 10kW would also be the wrong choice to make...?

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year! I am running 81.07 too on the max ii 8kW. I now understand that users of that type are "the odd ones" out, since most others DO have the option to use SOC instead of Voltage. 😟😡 Complaining to the (local) supplier here (Valencia Spain) will have no effect. They could not care less. For now, I have left Spain for an indefinite period and the Axpert is on its own. Disconnected from the gid by a relay. I have no monitoring capacity now because the Network is also down... I cross my fingers that it may remain properly working till I return. May I be so curious Coulomb as to ask what it is that you "patch" in the software? Greets to all. Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Hi Coulomb, I have been roaming the net for days to find a solution. Unfortunately I got nowhere. Somebody has an EG4-6500EX, which seems to be an Axpert Max/ He has this option in his firmware. If I had that option it would solve all problems... Do you think there is any chance of acquiring this for my Axpert max ii? So far I have solved the problem by adding a timer to the relay, which only allows the red to connect between midnight and 08 in the morning. On top of that, setiing program 05 to USE (user-defined) allows for program 13 to be set lower than 51V (apparently that was dictated by Pylontech). So I have now put 49V as the return to battery point. This might sort of work, but of course it is still not comparable to SOC% setting. So if somebody knows about some firmware that would allow it... please let me know. Greetings, Kurt

Axpert Max ii 8kw: use grid as generator and control with program 12 and 13
Could you give some more more detail and information, please? Tnx, Kurt

Axpert MAX II 8KVA
Hi Rozsda, SBU: Utility only starts working when battery and solar are 'out'. It will then charge the batteries at the speed set in program program 11. It will also provide power to the house. When solar power is generated, this power will be sent to whatever demands power: this can be the batteries or the house. Only when batteries have sufficiënt power, you will return to battery mode. Two remarks however: EVEN in battery mode The Axpert will continuously take 70W from the grid. That is why I (and you) use the dry contact and a relay to avoid that. But then (in SBU mode) it is ONLY the settings from program 12 and 13 that make the Axpert switch to and from the grid. (Unless you cut off manually)
