Voltronic Infini 10KW weird battery behavior
Voltronic Infini 10KW + Narada NPFC lithium battery + Solar Assistant. Been working fine for a while, except that solar assistant started throwing some voltage dip warnings recently. Inverter and Battery are Not showing any errors/warnings. From past 2 days: - When the PV is available, around 70-100W are being sent to battery (as per the inverter) BUT no charge is being received by battery (as per battery). Battery is Not charging, even though its around 47% right now. - When the PV is not available, around 127-129W are being consumed from the battery even with the grid present (as per the battery). Previously, no power was being consumed from battery with Grid present. As a result battery slowly drains during the evening/night But doesn't charge during the day. All the settings in inverter look good to me. Any idea what's going on?

Solis S6 vs Deye Hybrid Inverters
Currently have Voltronic Infini 10KW 3P Hybrid inverter. Looking to upgrade, mainly due to fan noise and Lithium battery support. Deciding between Solis 12KW vs Deye 12KW. I see that Deye has a longer history on this forum, however, Solis is considerably cheaper and although its a new model, the company seems to have decent reputation. Which inverter would you guys recommend, in terms of quality, reliability and longer lifespan? Solis S6 model Link Deye model Link

Deye/Solis 3-Phase LV Hybrid inverter fan speed related to temp or load?
Currently have Infini 10KW installed inside the house and it gets really loud during peak PV output or when charging/discharging battery. With decibel app on my phone, I measured the noise level at around 70dB. That's why I'm planning on getting Solis or Deye 12KW Hybrid as I've heard they are much quieter. With Infini the fan speed is directly related to PV output, so even during winters when inverter temp is much lower, the fans still run at same speeds (aka noise) as in summer when inverter is running hotter. Is it the same for Deye and Solis inverters? or are their cooling algorithms based on inverter temp, so they'll run much quieter in winters?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
UPDATE: Inverter seems to be working fine now - from past couple of days its been reporting accurate generation figures. Seems like new firmware took a while to take affect in calculating energy totals.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Fans are noticeably louder today as well, so seems like they've increased fan speed to bring temps below 60c, rather than de-rating the inverter. Is there a way you can find out if power generation data can be completely reset?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
One thing I've noticed is that inverter ran noticeably cooler today. Max temp didn't even hit 60c. Although earlier it would be above 60c (peaked at 63c) for 4-5 hours per day. Today was hot & dry just like past few days, but inverter max was 58c (mostly around 56-57c). Not sure if newer firmware is de-rating the inverter because I'm seeing pretty much similar generation so far. Generation (in yellow)

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Today I compared energy generation during peak hours between Solar Assistant - Utility Meter - Inverter. Solar assistant is very close to the meter reading but inverter is way off. SNMP card isn't currently accessible. Last night I reset it using the jumper on the card, but I didn't unplug the ethernet cable while removing and reinserting the card - I think that fried the router connected with SNMP card, so need to arrange another one. I was hoping for firmware update to resolve the issue but that didn't work, so I guess its not worth it at this point, since I'll most likely replace the inverter soon anyways. The only thing I can think of is that there's probably lot of dust buildup inside the inverter and that might be throwing off some sensor, but that doesn't explain why solar assistant is able to get accurate readings. I'm surprised there's no way to reset energy generation data in the inverter. What if someone buys it used or in my case getting erroneous readings, no way to reset the inverter so to speak.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
@riogrande75 Just updated the firmware with the one you supplied. Here's output on screen using Up/Down buttons: u1 20-04-02 b1 values on left column: 470 260 50 bottom right: 000111 Note that on SNMP Web: its still showing previous firmware version 00001.01 On LCD, the generation data was Not reset - I've read in other forum posts that generation data is lost after firmware update. SNMP web is also still showing inaccurate generation data and fluke generation data is still being generated (its about midnight here). Is there a way to delete all previous generation data in the inverter?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
It worked after upgrading SolarPower Pro to latest. Not much changed in UI, plus its still pulling inaccurate data from inverter.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
I keep getting Wrong password message before upgrade, even though I'm using default password 12345678, even tried administrator. Wanted to try 123 but there is a min 8 character requirement so ok button doesn't work.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Let me try with SNMP card firmware upgrade first and see how that goes. It should be fine with inverter still running old firmware right?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Got the cable....what are the odds that if my inverter is a clone (non-genuine) that I'd end up bricking it?
-
Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Is this the cable I need for firmware upgrade? USB to RS232 HL-340 USB serial Converter also called USB to DB9 or USB to RS232 com port or USB to serial cable.

Reset Inverter generation stats on Infini 10kw ?
Where do I look for this setting? I have service manual for Infini, but it doesn't include instructions for accessing any hidden menus etc.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Yes But, SNMP card alone doesnt explain why inverter is showing higher generation as well I tried finding an update but couldnt. Any idea where I can find it? Resetting is done using jumper right? Do i have to turn off the inverter or can I just pull out the card with inverter running?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
SNMP web card starts showing random generation numbers for the hours, just when new hour starts. E.g. At 12am, it will showed 1.9kwh, which didn't increase during the 12a-12:59a period, but at 1a it started showing 2.5kwh generated for that hour etc. The issue with inverter is a bit complicated, AFAIR, it used to reset Today energy generated at midnight, which it isn't so at 2, 3, 4am in the early morning its still showing yesterday's generation. Then when the PV generation actually starts its counter appears to be running much faster than it should be - compared to Solar Assistant. As a result by the end of the day, Today Energy Generated is around 10kwh higher than Solar Assistant. Here's today's graph from SNMP, note production somehow started at 12a, but it happened in chunks just when clock turned hour. Note: Last night, I disconnected Solar Assistant and both strings from Inverter Before midnight - thinking maybe one of these is causing this, but it still happend.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Old firmware would make sense. I have 2017/2018 model. I just remembered we had the firmware discussion back in January this year: Tbh, I chickened out and didn't update the firmware - mainly because my inverter is out of warranty and I wasn't sure if its a clone or 100% genuine. If updating firmware caused any issue with normal working, I'd be stuck with an expensive purchase. Other than generation, are there any benefits of firmware update i.e. added features, fan noise reduction, better MPPT algorithm etc? I suspect two reasons. First, back then PV size was 5KW (single string), so there wasn't really much generation difference to notice - however, back then I never noticed any generation numbers at midnight so still that's odd. Second, and this makes more sense to me, is that there is a bug which assumes 1 or 2 string configuration at initial setup and continues storing data that way, so when 2nd PV string was added the data started getting corrupted. That would explain wrong numbers in SNMP web card as well, But accurate numbers in Solar Assistant.

Reset Inverter generation stats on Infini 10kw ?
Have Voltronic/MPI Infini 10KW that is showing incorrect Daily generation stats, both on LCD screen and in SNMP Web card. My guess is that its internal data memory is corrupted after recent solar upgrade - during which inverter was shut off several times. Is there a way to completely clear/delete past generation data from inverter and snmp web card? I've looked through manual and LCD screen menu and SNMP web interface, but don't see anyway to do it. @Coulomb You're quite knowledgeable wrt Voltronic inverters, can you please help?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Today was cloudy and generation wasn't consistent. I'll see if we get clear sunny day tomorrow and try to compare generation numbers for a specific hour from all three devices and compare it with Utility meter. What I'm really confused about is why the inverter is showing energy generation at midnight. Is there a possible wiring issue in PV strings?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Update: Its couple of hours after midnight. Inverter: Today Energy Generated = 33.245 SNMP Web: Today: 7.532 Solar Assistant: 0 All Three have correct date & time set and all three are showing PV voltage 0. Iv been watching these figure for 10 mins and they haven't changed. I'm completely clueless now.

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Haven't really compared yet, because we have Split ACs connected to the same grid/utility meter that inverter is pushing excess energy to, and ACs end up consuming much of the energy. So the number on grid meter won't really be useful unless we run an entire day without ACs - which isn't really possible in current hot weather. My family are gonna kick me out One thing I just remembered is that with original installation we had a single PV string of 5KW - back then the Inverter, SNMP web card and Solar Assistant all displayed same values. Another reason why I'm confused is because Solar Assistant pulls data from inverter, so how come its reporting different data (seemingly more accurate) than inverter?

Voltronic Infini 10KW reporting incorrect generation figure
Recently upgraded the system to 13KW PV input. Now Infini 10KW is reporting much higher generation than expected (by around 10kwh per day additional) than solar-assistant. Interestingly, Inverter lcd display and SNMP Web Card, both are displaying this wrong higher number. I know inverter is wrong because, even pvwatts figure is closer to what solar-assistant is reporting. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted or is inverter being overloaded that's why its showing incorrect generation figures?

Infini 10KW high-pitched buzzing noise?
Bringing this thread back to life. Recently upgraded the PV input to 13KW and the fans are screaming during peak hours. I'm actually concerned if the unit will overheat and burn-out faster. Solar Assistant is showing max internal temp of 61C during peak hours. I'd really like to bring the noise level down. First solution I'm gonna try out is getting it cleaned using compressed air, as its been running since 2018 and never serviced. 2nd is to find quieter fans that still push air. The best Nocta fan I've found so far is https://noctua.at/en/nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm. But it only has Static Pressure of 74 Pascal vs 110 Pascal for the OEM fans. Any suggestions? @Coulomb I was looking at Service manual for Infini and its lists only 3 fans, however, I came across this video, at 0:37 mark you can see a small fan inside the inverter as well, but no mention of it in service manual. Any idea how long these fans are supposed to last before they started getting loud etc?

Infini long-term reliability
You specifically mean voltage or meant power? I have 2x 6.5KW strings (total 13KW) on my 10KW Infini, but each string outputs 530v, which is pretty much in the middle of the MPPT voltage range, however, I've definitely pushed the total power to near limit (15KW) of the inverter, should I be worried? One thing I've noticed so far is that inverter fans get quite loud now and solar assistant is showing internal temp or 61c during peak hours. Did removing fan filters made the unit quieter? Our has been running non-stop for 6-years and after recent PV upgrade to 13KW, the unit is screaming during peak hours. Would cleaning it with compressed air quieten the unit or is it just the way its designed?

Shading effect on half-cut solar panel?
Need some opinion about which way to mount half-cut solar panels. The lower portion of the panel will get some shading during winter season and I'm confused whether mounting in portrait is better than landscape. My understanding was that if a row of panels was getting shade on the bottom 1/4 part, then mounting half-cut panels in Portrait would mean that lower portion of the panels will produce reduced output, but upper would still make full output. However, as per this video, unless the lower-half of half-cut panel is fully covered, it will result in equivalent losses as that of a regular non-half-cut panel. Is that true? If so, is it still better to mount the panels in portrait or would landscape orientation result in same output?
