robkowa got a reaction from Scorp007 in "Grid Load" minus "PV" equals "Grid" minus "Backup Load". ????If we were in a bar now, I'd buy you and Scorp007 a beer!
Mysteries removed. Thx

Those are all basically your household electrical appliances and devices. Typically your smaller devices on plug points can be backed up by the battery and solar, so if Eskom goes down, those backup loads will stay live. The grid loads are typically too big/heavy to be backed up on battery, often things like the geyser or the oven, so they stay on the grid side of the inverter. If Eskom goes down those big consumers go down.
If you don't know how your house has been wired up, ask the installer, else turn off your mains switch for a short test and see which plugs are still working on the inverter.

robkowa reacted to GreenFields in Hello all. And what is this app…?If looks like a re-branded version of the Solis S6 hybrid inverter. I'd suggest searching this forum for some discussions and reviews under that name. Or try the Solis manual.
My take, you need to understand thd diffrrdnce between permanently backed up essential loads, versus non-essential loads that only operate when the grid is on. The grid can likely be zero during loadshedding.
