  4. I wish I was not this first one. The "If DC-DC charging is used without communication, the battery BMS will not work" words, when I read them again, look sadly like they 100% explain what happens to me. The question becomes : can I safely downgrade and if so, what is the last "no canbus mandatory" version.
  5. Thanks Tinbum After insisting a lot, I got this message Hi, Our US5000 battery can only be recognized by the inverter when there is communication. It cannot be used in mobile scenarios and needs to be installed in a fixed environment. If DC-DC charging is used without communication, the battery BMS will not work. If the battery is damaged, it will not be covered by the warranty. So if one has a US5000 working without canbus, do NOT upgrade the firmware because you will lose this functionnality !
  6. Does anybody on this forum have some US5000 with firmware 1.9 inside ? If so, would you please try to discharge the batteries without any CAN device attached ?

  9. Users like me like to be told about such an important FW modification, IF ANY (I'm a doubting guy, always keep in mind that I'm not omniscient), before buying. Nothing about that in the manual, unless I misread something ?

  11. Yes they are, though I limited charge at 50 amps for two batteries through dvcc "limit charge current ". I also set the Victron 48v inverter to switch my 72v inverter on (I often use my electric motorcycle as a domestic battery !), it feeds "AC IN" as soon as the load goes over 5000w for 1 second
  12. Well, now you have, if I believe what I see, and a written message from Pylontech, saying that I need to check communication between the batteries and the inverter. Which I did with a raspberry and a can-hat, this actually solved the "locked in IDLE" issue. I'm not super happy if that is confirmed, until now, I like my batteries to give a usable + and -, without any external signal required. (Though I could still open the box and go to the bones if absolutely needed, loosing my warranty).

  15. Very sorry for the actual hijacking. It's because when I first met bugs with the batteries I fisrt thought I had the same kind of problem than BritishRacingGreen... Batteries are now alive and working. It is 100% verified : if I unplug the can wire from the "gx" raspberry (can hat has been added succesfully !) or the mk3 usb from the inverter the batteries just shut down, then there is a red "low battery" alarm on the multiplus and the whole system shuts down. So I guess your high voltage firmware version could explain that. Some kind of hazardous mix.
  16. I just did not plug the can comm, after setting the voltages according to Victron's advices about the bms limits. Which I admit was like thinking "pylontech batteries are normal batteries with normal bms", my mistake
  17. Last news from Pylontech about the logs : batteries are OK, you need comm with the inverter In other words : these battteries are just not able to discharge without a keep alive signal. I read it already, but it looked like not possible, to my blinded eyes of guy who assembles batteries with modest BMS models which never failed. Never ever. So I'm like a dumb mzafokanut grumbling about batteries not able to discharge without can protocol. This is super not useful when you try to implement a "low tech" (or at least openly controllable) approach to lithium storage at home. I'll wait until I see the SOC led back in discharge though, isolated can hat arriving tomorrow.
  18. Having no feedback from Pylontech about the logs since more than a week, this morning I called Jeff directly, asked for permission to check the fuses, and for the most recent firmware. He says yes I can open and check continuity + wait for the "SOP" the tech service will send it under 8 hours. I asked for a written confirmation about opening the box but it hasn't come yet. So this is still waiting, but if at least at the end of the day, I can check that myself, it would be a relief. Question : as I can see the voltage on the power poles, it means that the fuses are still OK ? Or is it possible to see the charge fets' voltage while the discharge fuses are off ?
  19. Thanks Tinbum, but if I'm out of warranty I would like to understand why I have to bother with self-killing pcb fuses, when a regular high-end 125a dc breaker could be an option. The question remains : how is the official Pylontech dc breaker plugged into the US5000b bms ?

  21. I don't have US5000b !!!! I try to understand how the breaker is connected in the 5000b, does it replace or double the self-killing fuses ? I hope it's clear, but I say it in other words. I have a recent (C5) US5000 and would like to check if I can put a 125VDC breaker to shunt the original built-in fuses
  22. @PurePower@Youda, do you know if this breaker replaces the kamikaze fuses, or is it just added between them and the power poles ?

  24. If I'm out of warranty I may try replacing the fuses (if it's the only problem). Has anybody got any idea of the way the dc breaker on a US5000b is connected to the BMS ? Special BMS ? Cables soldered on pcb ? I'd be happier with something that can trip and get back to work after inspection
  25. Well thank you, though it's not good news. The seller also sent the logs to Pylontech and also received no answer. Where do you see the 100% fried situation in the logs ?
