@IssI've completed my update this morning at around 7h00 AM as per your detailed guide. On my side both inverters are working well for now I'm waiting to see if I will have the battery on standby once it's 100% charged. I don't have the negative values all is normal. No faults or warning beeps expect during firmware update which took a bit more than 7minutes (10 minutes to be exact).

I am on the original version which came with the Inverter and it's running well on the USE as well. One morning after having a cup of coffee my power went off I checked and found that my 2 x 5kW Growatt in parallel were off and no alarm noise no display. My 3 x 4.8kWh LiFePo4 batteries all had red lights. I switched on the bypass switch for grid supply before all hell broke loose from kids and my wife. On checking the batteries I discovered that they were drained to a extent that they could not turn on the Inverters. On that day boy it was very sunny but the Inverters could not charge the batteries as they were totally dead. I went to a couple of solar shops with the hope that I could get a 48V charger to raise the battery voltage so that the Inverters could be activated. Guess what they were talking of the high price ($1000,00 plus) and two weeks waiting period. I tried to the battery supplier who was so mad with installation and the settings and couldn't help as he kept on talking about forfeiting the warantees on the batteries. I left the system for a day and the following morning I woke up to the noise of alarms both inverters were on and giving all sorts of error codes. The obvious ones were 04 and 20. I went back to basic invert settings just to give batteries a charge with the grid power. I hate to say that Li settings on the Inverter was a total waste of time and battery life. So far everything is working and would not bother the Inverters with Li settings as the Battery BMS is more than capable.

I have two pylontechs 2.4kwh and planning to get two more at a later stage. The plan is to add On to the system when the need arises. For now, the two gets me through the 4 hours of normal loadshedding and I'm still left with about 40%. I got my batteries and panels from the Solar Shop and the two inverters from IKON Energy when they had a special last month. 5Kw at R9500 each, you will have to wire the two units as per the user manual and no need to do any settings for parallel operation. they automatically do that themselves and chooses master and slave. as for the wifi, you will have to configure the shineWifi stick yourself and its easy. All information is there when you get the products. If I can do it myself, you can do it too 🙂
The installers wanted to charge me R10k to do the installation of the inverters and batteries and another R16k for the solar panels. I saved a total of R26k by doing everthing myself and will just get an Electrician to come and check everything and issue a CoC. That can be done by any qualified electrician and will just pay for that

Hi, I'm running two parallel Growatt inverters. Like @Jaco P Bloem say, do not parallel the PV inputs, every other inputs and outputs are paralleled as per the installation manual except the PV inputs. In my case, I have four panels, 405W JA Solar with Voc of 49.86v. I have connected two panels in series and then wired them to 1st inverter and then connected the other two and wired to the 2nd inverter. Do not forget to connect isolators between your inverters and solar panels. I'm planning to add four more at the end of the month so that I can have 8.

    Hi Erwin
I do not have knowledge of the Growatt inverters, but have two Mecer Axperts in parallel. You are correct in that all similar AC in/out puts and Battery DC are parallel connected on the two inverters, except the PV inputs.
You may not bridge the PV inputs as then you effectively parallel the 2 DC input sources (that you have designed with care in your drawing 😉) and short-circuiting the two mppt chargers.
I am sure it will be similar with the Growatt: on the Axperts you connect a ton of communication and current sharing cables (a parallel communication kit) .. in order for the inverters to cleverly balance the power drawn from the 2 different PV sources, battery charging and AC (load) output..  (Perhaps check with the supplier?)
    Kind Regards
    Jaco P
