  1. Hi everyone, It's been a while since I posted on the site. 2 years ago I purchased and had installed a Deye 8K inverter. The model number is SUN-8K SG01LP1-US/EU. I recently thought about connecting the system to Wifi but have had quite a struggle to do this. I think I'm nearly there but I need the IP address for the Dongle. There is no information in the manual about his . Can anyone assist me with is query
  2. I have a Geyserwise TSE with 3 PV panels and an AC/DC element system to drive my 200 litre geyser. This is separate from the Main PV/Inverter/Batteries system for the house. The Geyserwise system was installed 2 and a half years ago but has recently begun to give problems. The situation is that sometimes even on bright days the system will simply not heat up the water from the panels, then it will run OK for a few days and then again for no apparent reason just stop functioning again, Any suggestions as to the root cause of such erratic behaviour ?

  4. The Inverter is a 5 KVA Axpert. This model has also been discontinued. I found this out as I was thinking of buying another one to run in parallel with the current model The GCL batteries are Lithium-Ion . The model number is GCL E-KwBe The whole system was installed almost 4 years ago
  5. I have two GCL 5,6KWH on my Solar system. I want to add an additional battery to the system to provide extra protection against the effect of increasing load shedding in cases of extended rainy weather. My system is OK for 2 bad days but when it goes into 3 days It is possible the system will switch over to the grid. That's Ok if the grid is functioning but that clearly cannot be relied upon I have tried to obtain an additional GCL battery. but it seems these are no longer available in this country. I have been under the impression that it is not possible to mix brands or batteries of a different KWH capacity in an existing battery bank. However, looking at some YouTube videos it seems that it is possible providing that when the additional battery is added to the system, the current voltage on the new battery and the existing batteries must be the same. It also seems that it not necessary for the KWH rating of the new battery to be the same as the existing batteries. This is a key point for me as ii seems that the currently available batteries are rated as 5,1KWH and not 5,6KWH I guess my questions are: 1. Does anyone have any information on where I can obtain an additional GCL battery, and 2. If it is possible to add another battery besides a GCL battery to the system, what specific points might require special attention I shoud add that I would not do the work myself but would engage the services of a qualified installer

My system consists of 1 Axpert 5 KVA inverter, 12 PV panels and 2 5.6 kW GCL batteries I'm thinking about a system upgrade by adding another Axpert 5 KVA inverter connected in parallel and one more GCL battery Inverter model number as indicated on the Rating Plate on the side of the unit is M-5K -64-PAR-A Dated of manufacture is indicated as 1/2019 Battery details as indicated in the manual are E-KwBe NC/S 5.6 kWh I'm not sure if the additional inverter and battery to match those in the current installation are still available here in South Africa my question for today is: Is a system upgrade as indicated above a practical option??
  7. 1. I have two Li-ion batteries connected in parallel. Does the BMV battery monitor measure the SOC for each battery separately or does it simply assume there is one battery ? 2. The installer on my system said one of the batteries is the master and the other a slave. With the batteries connected in parallel- how does this work ?
  8. On the subject of using ICC monitoring software where the LI batteries are not Pylontech, I was informed today by Centurion Solar that the software will only work with Pylontech batteries. That a disappointment for me as I was about to order the Pi with pre loaded ICC software from them. My batteries are 2 GLC models EW-KwBe 5,6kWh. If ICC won't work it seems the only option I have are to revert back to Watchpower -unless there are better alternatives !
  9. Hi there I tried the refresh option and also a restart on my PC but no change I still couldn't post a reply or even start a new topic. I then opened the forum on my lap top and hey presto - the reply option is working. -no idea why !! Here is the information Coulomb asked for in his last post I followed through on the link to the manual download and compared that manual with the one I was supplied with. There are differences. These are that the prg options are not identical as there are additional setting options in prgs 12 and 13. Lots of references to the 64V battery settings In addition there are two additional prg option being 32 and 38. Also noted is that there is a section on equalisation of the batteries which is not in the original manual. I checked on the firmware version and confirm that it is U1 71 20 for the Main CPU ans U2 04 12 for the Secondary CPU On final piece of information is that the inverter is not fitted with a a parallel card but I understand from the supplier that this is an option should I decide to add another inverter to the system
  10. Hi everyone, I'm still fairly new at this- only had my system for 6 weeks now. I have some questions regarding my set up. I have a single Axpert Inverter as identified in the topic header with 12 275w Panels and 2 GCL E-KwBE NC/5,6kWh lithium ion batteries Question 1. What would be the recommended back to battery and back to utility voltage figures ? Question 2. Looking at the voltages on the GCL batteries spec sheet the voltage range is indicated at 47V- 60,5V When I refer to the inverter manual, for the LCD settings 26 and 27 the bulk setting voltage only goes up to 58,4V. For setting 29 the low voltage setting on a 48V system has a setting variable from 40Vup to 48V These seem a bit low for the battery type I have I wonder if I was given the correct manual for this specific model of inverter ? Question 3. Any idea what the model M-5K-64-PAR-A identifiers actually stand for ?
  11. Question from a newbie: I've been up and running now for 4 weeks. The set up is 12 panels with an Axpert 5 kVa inverter and 2 GCL 5.6 kWh Lithium Ion batteries. I have looked at the Watch Power and ICC sofware but haven't yet actually tried either. I still need to get my mind around how to connect the software to the Axpert so that I can read the info and perhaps modify some settings, if needed, remotely on my laptop or tablet. The Installation is in my garage and I don't want to have to take my Laptop into the garage just to use the software. I also have a question about the battery identification.I see on the software there seems only to be two type of batteries mentioned being Flooded and AGM - no reference to Lithium Ion - would a be a probe in using the software ?
