  1. Thanks got hold of him all sorted and working…
  2. Hi I have the CFE 5100 lithium battery.Apparently Smart Bess app was used to monitor the battery from your phone. It’s no longer on the Play store.I googled options and someone mentioned the Smart Energy PLAT. I downloaded it but have no idea how to use. Are there other apps?
  3. Seems to be good so far I like it except for the 24/7 fan thing....if it's going in your house that could be a problem but depends where you put it...I now switch my inverter system off completely until there is load shedding...I switch it on 2 days a week when at work to charge up the batteries as they will lose 3 percent a week
  4. Unfortunately my MKSII does not have this setting which is really frustrating.I have resorted to switching the inverter off when there is no load shedding and we are not at home. As you said i dont mind the fans running while charging batteries but when totally idle and doing nothing those fans shouldnt be running. I appreciate the suggestion however
  5. Yes i have since found out that ALL the Axpert inverters run at 30% 24/7 across the entire range. Would be nice if they released firmware to drop this 30% and use the fans only when needed!
  6. I got the Mecer Axpert MksII installed in my home. The fans run 24/7 whether they charging batteries or not.Its rather annoying. Does the Axpert Kings fans run all the time as well?
  7. I wonder if the Mecer Axpert King's fans always run?
  8. If a new set of 4 Gel batteries have been charged by the inverter to their MAX then disconnected from the inverter and stored for a week how much charge will they lose in the 7 days?
  9. I'm hoping it has a power on/off button which completely turns it off...I'm sure it does...I am sensitive to noise and it's going in the middle of my small 2 bed simplex...I will switch it off when I go to bed unless I know there is load shedding...when I get up and leave for work I'll turn it on again
  10. Thanks for the response. Couldn't I just switch the inverter off when not in use if it becomes annoying?switch on again when we are out
  11. Im getting my Mecer Axpert MksII inverter system installed on Tuesday. Some people have said to me its noisy all the time,i figure by noisy they mean the fans. Others say its only noisy when charging the gel batteries. I have a small place i dont need a noisy device running 24/7. Anyone shed some light on this subject?
  12. Im looking for 200ah AGM/Gel batteries for my inverter. Can someone recommend some good, reliable brands i can buy locally online with high duty cycles. Also whats the difference between AGM,Gel and AGM Gel batteries?Which are the best?
  13. This would surely be a better option to my 4 x 200ah agm batteries? https://solaradvice.co.za/product/ufo-5kwh-lithium-ion-battery/
  14. Thanks Piet thats exactly what i needed to know and yes dod values are right
  15. What is the equivalent lithium ion pylontech in output to 4 x 200ah batteries?
  16. Yes you right it's a non inverter type sorry
  17. It's an inverter type, the older tech.Just changed but was recommended to go inverter type as they less problematic with this load shedding
  18. I think you are right there P1000...load is around 2100W. Therefore in your opinion what and how many batteries would I need. My calcs say 4 x 200ah AGM batteries connected to a mecer axpert 5kva mks2 inverter. I don't know what the difference is between agm and agm/gel batteries btw
  19. Due to the size of my flat the only place I can have the axpert mks2 inverter installed is on the wall in the lounge...not pretty. Is it possible to have a small cupboard mounted over it with the door having slatted ventilated louvers?
  20. Whats the main difference between the Axpert Mecer King and the Mecer MKSII?
  21. Devices wanting to run: 1 x 12000 btu split aircon unit inverter type 12 x ceiling/lamps lights all have energy saving globes @ 14W each 2 x ceiling fans 2 x 40” full hd led tvs 2 x Dstv decoders 2 x laptops 1 x Fibre router 1 x single door fridge What I don’t need on the inverter system: Stove/oven Geyser Kettle Toaster Washing machine At the moment I don’t want to run on solar but rather off a battery backup system. Wnat to run the a/c for a 2 hr period over load shedding. How many batteries do i need & what ah and are AGM batteries sufficient for this.Cannot afford Li On at the moment.
  22. Unfortunately not the aircon is non negotiable for the 2 hr load shedding
  23. Ive been looking at the two options. The quietest genny you can get for the power i need is the honda eu65is inverter gen at R60k.Its a 6.5kva unit with 5500W.Im in a complex so cant have a noisy gen.Ive phoned a few inverter supply companies and they reckon about R40k for a similar inverter unit with batteries.I need to run the following:1 x 12000 btu split unit aircon, non inverter (new ac)10 x overhead energy saving bulbs at 14w each, not led2 laptops and chargersFibre line, fibre router so we can work on laptops and have internet2 x 32" full hd led tvs and two dstv decodersPrice aside when we run into stages 3 to 8 the gap between sheds can be as short as 2 hrs.I believe the batteries take 6-8 hrs to fully charge. So im undecided as both have advantages and disadvantages.Any advice, suggestions greatly appreciated.
