Thanks Sc00bs, Tried this, but still seems to be the same, don't receive an response from the inverter... Even tried setting up new esp32 as well as rs485 module. Tried the CAN port split as suggested, doesn't seem to work, guess I will have to remove the inverter from the wall again and send it in... The ESP32 and RS485 works fine when I plug it into my friends inverter, same code and wiring just different wifi setup... Trouble is the repairer doesn't have a real way to test the RS485 port on their side...

I am sitting in this same boat, ESP32 device worked perfectly for months, and now it just doesn't get any comms from the RS485 port on my inverter. I have tried everything, even the comms board has been replaced on my inverter, still doesn't want to communicate at all... Does anyone have an idea what can be done? if the RS485 could be disabled or a setting somewhere that I might have missed? Thanks

Hi Slipx, this basically forces the inverter to use the generator input, if a normal petrol generator is installed without an auto start controller, this will make the inverter accept the generator's power to charge the battery. If the generator is installed with an ATS, and wired correctly, it will also start / stop the generator when Force Gen is selected or not On the Deye inverter it's the setting under Battery Setup -> 2nd page (Batt Set 2) -> Force Gen

@kellerza, I figured it out.... Here is the addon added to @slipx .yaml file in order for the Force Generator functionality to be managed by HA. Adding it here in case it can help someone else in future...

Just confirmed, added Register 235 onto my setup, and it changes the input port type from Generator / Smart Loads / Micro Inverter...

Thanks @kellerza, however I believe that this sets the port itself to input for Gen / Microinverter or Output for Smart Loads, but will play around and make sure...

Tried register 234, according to the documentation, from what I understand enabled 1, disabled 0.. also tried to see if I can find any other register with the awful chinese to english translations that we must take with a pinch of salt on the docs lol

Hi all, Has anyone tried to figure out with the esp32 integration, how to set the Force Generator switch on the 5/8KW Deye/Sunsynk devices? I see address registers on the modbus documentations, and have tried to set these values, but it doesn't seem to update / read correctly from what I can tell... Thanks a lot!

Hi @SiliconKid, Can you please let me know if you know if the firmware you have will work for the Growatt SPF 5000TL HVM-WPV (The High voltage unit), basically the unit can handle 120Vdc - 430Vdc on Solar side... If you know if this firmware will work for the unit, can you please forward it to me as well? If not, can you send me the contact details of the guys at Growatt so that I can try and find out from them? Thanks [email protected]
