  1. Good afternoon, Is the inverter still available? Regards,
  2. Morning all, Thank you for everyone's feedback. @Bobster. - The surge arrestors show green. Is there a test I can do? @Demo - I do not have any devices with surge plugs installed, only multi adaptors. I have purchased a Schneider EL that I will install this weekend. https://www.se.com/za/en/product/A9R41263/acti9-iid-rccb-2-pole-63a-30ma-type-ac/ What I have found is that the EL that was installed with the initial installation was placed between the Eskom feed and the inverter. I tried to bypass this with a direct Eskom feed, but then ran into issues of the EL not wanting to reset at all in the house and suddenly having a neutral with 220V. 😳 After a frustrating hour of fault finding, I traced it back to a faulty EL in the house that the electrician replaced as part of his fault finding the previous day. Replaced that with a new one and the tripping improved to such a degree that I thought the issue was resolved. Also added a Earth Rod with 25mm wire running directly to the panels and garage DB to ensure earthing. Until this morning when the condensation of the cold night and early morning sun caused it to trip continuously again. With the new EL installed, I will bypass the EL again and connect Eskom directly to the Inverter. Any further ideas what could cause it or tests that I can run to maybe identify an earth issue on the panels? Regards,
  3. Good morning everyone, Looking for some assistance on my current setup. I have a Goodwe GW5048-ES with 2 strings of 6 panels and a 100Ah lithium battery. System was working 100%, until a few months ago where my Earth Leakage in the house would trip randomly. The EL at the inverter would not trip, but only in the house. The Inverter is installed in my garage and gets power from the garage DB. I have disconnected all outside lights and plugs connected to the garage in various stages to trace the fault and had my electrician test for any faults without success. Switching off the CB that feeds the garage solves the issue, but then I get no feed from the solar to power the house and the battery keeps discharging. I have disconnected the earth from the panels to test, removed the fuses between the panels and the Inverter, switched the DC breaker off between the panels and Inverter without success. Also replaced the EL to eliminate that. When the power is restored in the house the inverter is now sometimes not switching back to show the grid as connected and active until you reset it via the SolarGo App. Any ideas where to start looking would be much appreciated. Thank you,
  4. Hi, Please see pictures below of mine i want to sell. I have 1 left. Make me an offer.
  5. Morning everyone, I emptied the cabinets and took a better picture of the units . Open to offers. Regards,
  6. Thank you. Much appreciated
  7. Good evening everyone, So I replaced my faulty Axpert inverter with a Goodwe ES5048 today. As per your advise I just did a plug and play, with the Axpert connections. I just have 1 question. With my Axpert installation, we split the neutral bar in the Main DB between the back-up loads and the On Grid loads. Do I keep that the same with the Goodwe or can I connect them again so that I only have 1 neutral in the house for both Back-up and Grid loads? Thank you,
  8. Morning Greg, I am no expert with the Axpert Inverters, but i had a look at the website link you posted. Just based on the poor spelling and website, it does look as if they will be inclined to sell cloned devices. Just my 2c.
  9. Hi everyone. Is there no market for these cabinets or is the price too high? Regards,
  10. Good morning everyone, I have the below 2 cabinets for sale. 100% complete, including built-in holders for CB's and extra plugs. I have upgraded to a wall mounted Lithium, so won't be needing them anymore. They can hold 12 std batteries per unit on 3 shelves or 3 lithiums. The marks on the one side is from a notice that was taped on and can be cleaned. I was looking at R2000 each or R3.5k for both? Please let me know if that is reasonable and if not i am open to offers. Regards,
  11. @Jaco de Jongh - Thank you for the speedy reply. I just needed confirmation before doing a simple switch over. I really appreciate the assistance. Regards,
  12. Good evening everyone, Firstly a quick update on the Axpert 3kVA inverter that kept tripping the AC feed CB. I have decided to retire that inverter for now(will repair it once the new one is installed) and do what i have been wanting to do for quite a while and get an upgrade. I have decided to go for the Goodwe ES5048 and add 6 x Canadian 410W panels to my current setup of 6 x JA Solar 365W panels, with a single 100Ah Lithium battery(for now). Each string of panels will run on a separate MPPT. My questions are the following: Would I be able to just do a plug and play switch with my current wiring setup and connect the AC Out side of the Axpert to the Back-up side of the Goodwe and the AC In side to the On-Grid side? My inverter setup and Sub-DB is in the garage and main DB in the house. Can I connect the EZ meter on the feed line from the house to the Inverter (On-Grid connectors) in the garage where that feeds from the Eskom line on the main DB, or does it have to be on the main line from Eskom before the EL and Main CB in the house? I do have my main DB split on 2 lines where Eskom feeds the Stove, Geyser, Granny Flat and Garage and the other for my plugs and lights that run on the feed from the Inverter(UPS), with a 3 way switchover. The setup instructions do cater for the EZ meter data cable to be up to 100m, so if it has to be installed in the house, it wouldn't be an issue just a bit of extra labour. P.S - From the drawings in the manual it does show the EZ meter before the loads that aren't on the back-up side, i am just hoping that it could be attached differently. If any of the above has been described in a manner unbecoming of a solar/electrical expert, i do apologise. Thank you in advance for the assistance. Regards,
  13. @Coulomb thank you very much. I will have a look and let you know. Really appreciate the help
  14. Good afternoon everyone, I have been running the following system for the past year: Axpert 3kVA 48V inverter 6 x 375W JA Solar panels 12 x Excis 102Ah batteries The system has worked flawlessly for the past year. With a little bit of education to the family we have managed to keep the times that we exceed the 2.4kW, to the bare minimum. Yesterday I walked into the garage where everything is run from, to find my feed CB from the house to the Inverter tripped. Tried to switch it on and it tripped immediately. Had a look in the house and the feed CB to the garage and El there also tripped. Took the AC input off the inverter and ran my angle grinder from the feed without any issues. From the above I narrowed it down to an Inverter issue. Question is, what component is causing what seems like a short to ground? The Inverter output is still working flawlessly. Any assistance or info where to look would be much appreciated. Regards,
  15. Good morning everyone, I have been reading up on different topics on this forum for a very long time and have found so much info and advise on this site. My current setup is as follows: 3kVA Axpert 48v inverter 6 x 375W JA Solar PERC Modules ( 2 strings of 3 in Series) 12 x Excis 102Ah batteries Back-up load wired in house for lights and plugs The whole system is run from my garage, with the panels on the flat roof. I have run into a problem with the Inverter, which i will post on the correct section of this Forum. Could i ask which one would be the best to Post on? Regards,
