  1. Thanks Scorp007, I'm going to try that as soon as I've done some critical repairs here after the storm damage. Cheers
  2. Thank you for your assistance Jaques We lost all comms last night hence late response. I think the problem is the frequency is too variable and my inverter settings cannot accommodate this. Cheers
  3. Morning all I have 2 Mecer 11kw inverters in parallel, totally off grid. We are going through a really rough patch of weather here on the farm and my batteries are getting low. I have connected my generators (tried 2 different ones) to try to get AC in to work but I think the power is just too dirty for these inverters. What I have tried is the following: I changed the inverters settings to Utility first I reduced the max charging amps from 60A to 30A I turned off much of the inverters load I added a toaster to the generator load to try and stabilie it. Unfortunately my inverters will still not accept this power. Any other ideas to try? I am 2 hours away from the nearest supplier of any components and the weather wont allow travel anyway. If all else fails, my next thing to try will be this: I previously had 2 Mecer 5kw inverters in parallel before I upgraded our system and they did work off the generator. I might try to run them off a generator and then connect the AC Out from them to the AC In of the current inverters??? Would that be madness??? Thank you all for your assistance!
  4. Pylontech Hub V-Hub is the CAN/RS485 communication hub for multiple 48V battery groups in parallel connection. The LV-Hub can manage up to 5 groups of 8 x Pylon US2000B Plus or 8 x Pylon US3000B battery modules for up to 140kWh's of storage. The LV-Hub is required when 9 or more solar batteries are used with a system that requires communication. I bought it and then changed my configuration, so it has never been used, still in the box. Sells for R10,000, my price R6,000. Please contact me privately. Deon 083 290 0002
  5. Bit more work but I'm going to rivet it. Cant take the chance! Thanks for your suggestion!
  6. Thank you! I'd be real upset if I blew my battery bank!
  7. Hello experts My house is a steel frame which is connected to a few earth spikes. I take earth from various parts of the frame. I'm running a fully off grid PV/Inverter solar system for my power which uses the earth spikes and steel frame of the house as its earth connection. I now need to weld a patio railing which is connected to the house steel frame. I am hesitant to do this without asking advice as I am afraid that I might blow some of the sensitive equipment if I do this? Can anyone tell me if I am worrying about nothing and if it will be safe to weld under these conditions? If not what would i have to do to protect my equipment? Many thanks guys!!
  8. I called the supplier. He suggests that I cut out the control box and wire the pump directly to the inverter as the inverter has its own controller. I'm going to go and try that now....
  9. No, I have wired the gennie through the inverter and control box.
  10. Hi Apologies, no, I have no grid connection. I have used a generator before when I had to pump water in the dark. I tried that yesterday with the same result. I may have some more of the same panels in the shed, I'll go and have a look. Cheers
  11. Manual says: PV Module Selection: When selecting proper PV modules, please be sure to consider below parameters: 1. Open circuit Voltage (Voc) of PV modules not exceeds max. DC voltage (450VDC). 2. Accumulated voltage of connected PV panels should be close to 330V for inverter with 220V output voltage. To calculate PV module numbers in series (N) and in parallel (M), please follow below formula:  For three-phase output:  Imp>Po/(Kvo x 0.9 x M)  For single-phase output, please use 2 times of PV power rating.  Imp>2 x Po/(Kvo x 0.9 x M) Po represents the rated output power. Kvo is equal to 330V/345V/360V for 220V/230V/240V output voltage respectively.  Maximum PV module numbers in series (N) > 330 / Vmp We strongly recommend the total PV Vmp is around 330Vdc to get the optimum MPPT output.
  12. Hi Scorp007 I have 9 Canadian Solar panels in series, 380W, Vmp 34.5v and Voc 41.2v Cheers
  13. Hi guys I'm totally off grid so any problems with water or power escalate extremely quickly! I'm tearing my hair out over this one. I'm running my single phase borehole motor off solar and an Aspire 2,2kw LS inverter through a control box. This has been working great for a couple of years. Yesterday I got Error A03 - Dry running 1. Water level in the well is low. 2. Nominal power of motor is not setting. We can rule out 1. I changed the motor nominal power to 1.5kw, although in the past it was set to 2.2kw. This was just in case I forgot which pump is actually down the hole! I know, I know. Error persists. Since (to my amateur logic) this looks like a low current error (it sees the pump as being out of the water = low resistance = lower amps?) I've been slowly reducing the nominal current setting, all the way down to 5A, but the error persists. The system is up for maybe 4 seconds before shutting down. I've now got enough water left for maybe 2 days and I'm not sure what to try next! Has anyone been in this situation or have any advice on what to try? Many many thanks!!
  14. What a pleasure! Thank you TaliaB!
  15. Hi I have 2 Mecer Sol-i-ax-11m's in parallel. I want a total maximum charging current of 120A (setting 02). Do I set each inverter to 60A (i.e. they are cumulative and will then give me a total of 120A) or do I set each of them to 120A? I cant find this answer in any of the manuals. Many thanks!

Ive got 2 Mecer Sol-i-ax-11m in parallel. Still a new system so Im not really in a position to make any recomendations, but so far no issues!
  17. Thank you very much @Tinbum!
  18. Hi guys I've spent hours trying to work out how to get 4 banks of 4 Pylontech US300C batteries to communicate with each other. The battery cable wiring is fine, I'm trying to understand how each bank communicates with the others. I think I've found the diagram. My question is - are these standard LAN cables and where does the indicated cable actually go to? Many thanks!
  19. I'm going to split them into groups of 4
  20. Great, thanks! That's exactly what I'm going to do then! I just need to get clarity on the master batteries dip switch settings, particularly the startup process (eg when do you set the dip switches exactly? Some say in the beginning, others say after you've started up once and then shut down again?). There's a bit of conflicting advice as to how the process works. Cheers
  21. Thank you very much Scorpio007, Beat, JKKM and jumper!!
  22. oh my! Have I just gone down a rabbit hole! Had no idea these firmware updates were available or so important!
  23. Thanks for the link to SegenSolar, going to read it now
  24. Thank you for your input guys! Were all batteries at 100% SOC when first connected up? This was a few years ago but I would have ensured they were at the same voltage but probably not necessarily at 100%SOC! Did you update the BMS to inverter cable as it changed? No I did not! I will contact my supplier to see if there is a different cable! Are the US3000C on firmware version 1.7 or above? I am busy doubling the size of my system so what I have done now to buy myself some time is install my new 8 Pylontech US3000Cs. The old batteries are therefore disconnected. I'll have to find out how to check the firmware version when they go back online. I will be creating 4 banks of 4 batteries in the new system. Thanks again for your help!!
  25. Thank you Beat. The 5 batteries are older than the other 3!
