  1. Thank you for the reference. I have checked my settings and confirmed Program 12 is 48, Program 13 is 52 and Program 29 is 46. But the Error 4 and beeping continues. I would be grateful for any further suggestions to resolve.
  2. Is there a setting that will only draw from the battery when utility is not available for the axpert
  3. Can any of you guys please indulge me as I am considering a Solis grid tie 5 k Va to add to my existing system. Does the Solis work with a Mercer 5 kva operating as the UPS. I am in Johannesburg and would like to limit export to Eskom to zero is this possible.
  4. @Mak posted a topic in Questions & Answers?
Does any one know who stocks ABB Trio grid tied Inveter?
  5. Thanks @Coulomb that what I was suggesting. Looks like I have to replace the MKS with a proper hybrid. Now wondering which one would be most suitable as I would like to avoid purchasing a separate ICC and also avoid significant rewiring.
  6. Would you advise pairing this Inveter with the axpert king. If so can excess unused PV generated energy be diverted to other uses not tied to the inveters?
  7. I am getting a better response at reduced values. But I still feel I am not optimizing on the capability of my PV due to the inverter bottleneck. I also do not have a budget to increase my battery bank. I do have budget for an additional inverter to set up in parallel and reduce the bottle neck. My peakloads are at around 7 KW so I hope 2 inveters would addequately carry this load without the need to bypass. Do you think if I added another inverter that would improve utilization of the PV. What would be the disantanges for this arrangement
  8. Thank you very much @Coulomb. I think I now have better understanding of how my Inveter is working in principle. My concern though is that this Mercer does not maximize my use of generation capacity via the PV array. The alternative discussed above to add another Inveter and more batteries appears expensive. My aim is to maximize the PV input and not be limited by the load capacity of the inverter which switches back to the grid. I am thinking of an alternative to put in a second Inveter ( grid tied) so that my PV input is maximized I to my household demand during the day. This will include loads managed through the Mercer and charging the battery. Does any one have this kind of set up? Please advise on how it’s working for you and also please advise if Mercer/ Alpert makes grid tied inveters. Looking forward to your feedback.
  9. If i do not need a battery bank. What would you recommend for a grid tied Inveter to support my PV array
  10. @ Coulomb My Inveter is an Axpert MKS 5K, PF 1.0 Version P/N 92 and it is connected using the comms cable to the Inveter. You mentioned 2 US3000 3.5 KWh batteries may be light for this Inveter. How many would be ideal? Regarding your statement “ Depending on the model, it may not be able to blend PV power with grid power to power the loads. 2 x US3000 is a little bit light for a 5 kW inverter; a larger start-up load like a fridge, freezer, pump etc can easily cause the battery voltage to droop enough to make the inverter change to grid mode. It should change back again in 10 minutes if the load is low enough (the load has to be below around 3400 W to go back to battery).“ I appreciate the potential limitation in the batteries to carry the load above 3400 W. I would ideally look to the Inveter to carry the load from PV and not Utility especially when PV is delivering 3 to 4 kW. Instead it goes to grid how do I control this relationship between grid and PV. I have already selected SBU in setting 1. Can this version of invertor blend grid and PV. Is there a work around for this. I am in a situation at midday where I have PV capacity but the load is being carried by grid power. Feeling a bit helpless after making the investment.
  11. I need help to resolve my situation where with a 4kv load. The Inveter is carrying this with Eskom and using solar to charge the battery. How can I get Eskom to carry the load. This is happening at 2 pm when I expect good solar output. See my LCD below. What settings can I change to minimize Eskom use when Solar is available. I already have SBU on Setting 1
  12. What about setting 31. What would be the ideal setting and why? I want to maximize PV generated power in preference to Utility. I find that even when PV is high a high load switches to bypass on utilility leaving the solar to only charge the battery.
  13. Hi Chris what setting for you have for setting 31? And why. Thanks
  14. Thanks all for your feedback. Does anyone know which setting I can change to the ideal charge current. And what is the ideal charge current. I checked on shedding and there are no hadedas sitting on the panels I only get shedding at 5 pm
  15. Yes - 2 pylontechs 3000s Inveter is Mercer 5kv no shedding and all panels facing north on same mppt
