  1. I would also like to know. I got scammed a month ago by a "fly by night" and It seems that there are more scammers than actual businesses
  2. Hi all! I recently bought a 7.2 kW Kodak Axpert inverter and have trouble in the morning if the battery switched off due to low voltage. I need to start the generator so we can have power. (We are totally off grid). The previous 5kW Axpert Lynx MKii inverter that I had, had no trouble supplying the loads and charging the battery at the same time when using the generator. I transferred the same settings to the 7.2kW inverter, but the 7.2kW inverter keeps on switching between the generator powering the loads and solar (even if the sun is barely shining) powering the loads. I cannot charge the battery that way. It charges for 3 seconds and then stops charging for 3 seconds. Some days we dont have sun and then I need to charge the battery using the generator. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance Reinhard
  3. Thank you very much. I was suspecting that it could have to do with 49V, because it drops out below 49 V and starts up by itself as soon as the battery (Pylontech UB3000) is almost full. It is quite old, bought in 2018. Bulk charge voltage can be set to 64V. It did work fine for the first few days though. Thanks, now I know what to expect. I also know that I should get my inverter back from the repair shop
  4. Hi all. My spare inverter is giving error code 55 when the battery is not fully charged. It is switching itself off every 5 minutes. I saw elsewhere on this forum that it is due to loads with too much DC in them. I switched off everything in our house and later switched off the main breaker. Still, the inverter switched off and displayed error 55. What can I do to fix this, as my primary inverter is in for repairs. Could it be fixed by updating the firmware?

  6. Hi all. During the night, my axpert inverter stopped working (it shorts the battery). I bought a second hand spare inverter, that was previously used in a parallel setup. I connected the inverter and now it does not want to supply 230V power. Also, I cannot get into setting nr 8 and choose 230V. I currently have setting 28 on PAL. Are there any other settings that I should change in order to supply 230V to the loads? I am getting desperate, as we are off grid. (Since posting the topic, I figured out the problem. I used my old inverter settings and I dont know which setting it was, but it fixed the problem) Thanks, Reinhard

  9. It was the problem. I'm not at home. I explained to my wife how to change the setting and now everything works 100%.
  10. Could it be because suddenly setting 9 is 60Hz?
  11. My wife was also complaining now that her gas oven's fan doesn't come on.
  12. The voltage on the circuits is 230V. It fluctuates by maybe 1 Volt
  13. Hi All, I have a question about this inverter that bugs me. My system consists out of a single Axpert MKSii, a 3.5kW Pylontech battery and 7 x 285W (was 8 panels) panels. I purchased a second hand 1kW generator from a friend and connected it a few days ago. I started it up and decided very quickly that the output voltage of the generator was fluctuating too much for me to consider keeping it there. After that, my wife started complaining that the power is "weak". The next morning, our washing machine did not want to drain. It seems that the pump does not want to work when it has water in the system. we replaced it and the new pump also does not work, only when there is water in, almost as if it is too weak. Also, the refrigerator is making a strange noise and stays on for longer, to such an extent that the battery goes flat, which was not the case in the past Could it be a setting, or did I blow something again? According to the inverter, it produces a constant feed of 230V and does not fluctuate
  14. Good day, I installed a new Axpert MKS ii inverter about a month ago and it showed a code "HS", so I saw somewhere on the forum that it is showing this code because setting 28 should be changed to Single mode. I then accessed setting 28 and it did not give me the SNG option, only PAL. Is there maybe another setting that I have to change in order to access single mode. What prompted me to ask this question (as the HS fault code has not affected the inverters operation in any way), is because the power went off during the night (which is very irregular) and this morning, the inverter was displaying alternating codes: HS and 15 (which could also be "IS"). According to the manual there are no error codes like that. We then switched off the battery (Pylontech 3.5kW) restarted the inverter. Switched on the battery and everything was fine, even though error code 4 was flashing, which is normal for most of the day. Why can I not change setting 28? and What is this code 15 (or IS)?
  15. Thanks, I took it to a guy that said he can fix it and he could not find the problem. The pics that I saw of blown FETs, that would make the noise that I heard, doesn't seem to correspond with what I see inside the inverter. I took it apart to see if I could find the blown component, but I cannot see anything that blew. I also tested the FETs on the DC side and (except if I did it wrong) they seem to be okay. I was however wondering about the four caps between the poles where the battery connects. There is a short over the battery connectors. My pylontech goes into self protection mode when I switch it on. I cannot see anything on any of the PC boards that is visibly damaged, or that could have overheated. Any recommendations on a technician that I could take it to in the Freestate, Northwest or Eastern Cape (South Africa)?

  17. Finally I found out what the problem was. One day, after becoming crazy deparate (my wife struggling without electricity and me working 700km away from home), I jumped into the car and drove home. When I got home, I went to the inverter, opened it and say a small white plug, that wasn't plugged in properly, like the one in the picture: I plugged it in, the solar detected and that was the end of the problem. The inverter ran perfectly, never switching off and the battery never went flat for 2 months. Then one day I was in the garage and I heard a loud pop and the power was down. Now the battery (Pylontech UB3000) is detecting a short and the red (ALM) light goes on and refuses to start. There is a short over the 2 poles where it connects to the inverter. The inverter is dead. What could have happened and what could the damage be? I have ruled out problems with the PV, as I am borrowing and inverter and it shows no problems being connected in place of the broken one. The wind was not blowing, there was no thunder and its a completely off grid system, so there was definitely no power surge. The inverter had a 1 year warrantee, that expired a month ago.
  18. Thanks Coulomb I definitely have the clone with firmware ver 72.70c on it. Is the problem with the firmware? Can I tell the supplier that? Could there be anything else that I could look for? Will I be able to load another firmware version on the inverter? Will it work on a clone?
