  1. Does anyone perhaps have the modbus addresses for the sun-12k-sg04lp3, I have tried the 5/8kw addresses, but they differ. I have made contact with Sunsynk but they don't know what I am referring to.
  2. Hi all. I have so many questions; I have a 5kw Deye inverter (Same as the Sunsynk) The Main board is SUN-5k-SG02LP1-CON-V1.4, I am trying to setup a raspberry pi to monitor the inverter. I can not find any article giving all the steps for this setup. I also do not know how all the different applications, Grafana, InfluxDB, Batruim, Node-Red, MQTT integrate with one another. I have in the meantime tried to get any serial data from the RS485/ CAN ports via the RJ45 connections, I have reached out to one of the Deye support staff in China, and according to him, the RJ45 RS485/CAN ports are only for BMS connections, and that the RS232/Wifi port has to be used for Raspberry pi connections. I have purchased a RS232-RS485 converter, and connected it up with The "Cheap" USB to RS485 converter from Micro Robotics. I also Purchased a RS485 CAN HAT from them. After I have installed node red, I have tried to get any data from the inverter, but nothing. The way I have done this is by selecting a serial input (/dev/ttyAMA0 or /dev/ttyUSB0) but I get nothing. I even thought that there might be something wrong with the PI, so I have tried it on a PI zero W, PI3 and PI3B+. Same results. I also tried to use the RJ45 connection by connecting pin 1 to A and pin2 to B, (and tried 7 to B and 8 to A). Can some one please direct me to a step by step procedure to get this working, as I am "moedeloos"
  3. Seeing that I am in the automation business, and my whole house is already auomated. Lighting, geyser, pool pump, curtains, entertainment ect. It made sense to utilise it to space all the usage through scheduling and by measuring the load. I also replaced the 4kw geyser element with a 2kw, now I dont have a problem with overloading when the pool pump, geyser and other things are on during the day time. The geyser's smart thermostat which is programable on my phone allows me to see the curent temp. I have adusted the temp to 70deg, this way it has the whole day to get there ( usualy by 10am). It allows for 2-3 baths in the evening. I also have programed the system to monitor the grid supply, sending me notifications once it goes off and once it is restored. I have Alexa's in each room and it also anounce if the grid goes on or off. Once the grid fails the system imediatly turns of the geyser and pool pump, in an attemt to conserve energy. I might include some condition based on the available sun at some point. I wanted to make sure that swambo does not get annoyed by giving het all the rules, what to turn on or off, and automating all of this has made it so smooth, all of this happens without us even thinking about it.
