Only electrical component in the towel rail is a heating element which does have an earth connection. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement element which was fitted. There is no issue with the towel rail.

Our entire house is connected to a 8kw Sunsynk Inverter and a 5kw Battery. Neutral and Earth are bonded via the main DB board. Inverter is connected to main earth also in the main DB board. Heated Towel rail in the bathroom has been shocking us (bare feet) and when I measured it it was producing 35v. It is connected to a single pole breaker (dedicated circuit) and when I turned this off the 35v was still there. Turn the Eskom supply off and this drops to about 5v Sparky came round last night and after lots of testing and trouble shooting turns out the 35v is getting to the towel rail via the earth circuit. The supply and return from the inverter are earthed commonly within the inverter on the earthing point, these are then connected to the main earth point on the house. When this earth is removed from the inverter the 35v supply drops to about 11v and we can no longer feel the buzz on the towel rail. We have temporarily disconnected the earth and then are contemplating running a dedicated earth spike just for the inverter. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Update on this, GeeWiz sent me a replacement Sonoff Mini R2 as a replacement, must have been a packaging mistake.

Purchased a SONOFF Load Shedding Detector Kit from GeeWiz - https://www.geewiz.co.za/sonoff-pro...-shedding-detector-kit-with-instructions.html Image and instructions for install are for a Sonoff Mini R2 with S1 and S2 connections. Actual product that was delivered had a Sonoff Mini R3 in the box with two L and two N connections. No actual switch connections. Electrician is here trying to install it and is a little concerned that they are not the same devices and are missing contacts. Anyone install one and run into similar issues?

As per title, Im about to have a Sunsynk 5kw Battery installed on a Sunsynk 8kw Inverter. Asked the installer if we need fuses and he said a circuit breaker would be fine as long as there is a fuse in the battery. I am yet to see a install without fuses and wanted to know if this is mandatory or if optional? Secondly if mandatory why would a inline fuse be better than a breaker?
