Thank you so much for the reply. I really like this idea. If I understand correcly, the fuse holders are completely removed and the break takes its place? Would it really be that simple as just disconnecting the fuses and placing a break in its place without anything else? Should I also use a 40A breaker? Are there any specific make/models that you can recommend? Seeing that the 2x series string of 3 panels are then connected in parrallel, the max current should the be double the 17,37A as in 34.74A, hence my thinking of using a 40A fuse. Is my assumptions correct?

Hi. I need some advice as my current setup is causing the fuses to melt. My hardware: I have 1x Synapse 5.0k inverter with the following ratings: Solar Charger Mode: Rated Current: 80A System Voltage: 48VDC Min. Solar Voltage: 40VDC Max. Solar Voltage (VOC): 145VDC The panels are 6x Trina solar TSM-545DE 19 panels. Their ratings are: Maximum Power (Pmax) 545W* Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp) 31.4V Maximum Power Current (Imp) 17.37A Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 37.7V* Short Circuit Current (Isc) 18.47A* Maximum Series Fuse 30A Due to the 145VDC limitation of the inverter, the installer thought it well to setup the panels in a configuration of 3x in series, the other 3x in series, and then combine those to series sets a parrallel configuration. The parrallel configuration then goes throught 690v 63A fuse holders with 40A fuses in them. The problem that I've experienced is that when there is a big load in the house and the sun shining truley brightly the fuses start to melt inside the holders, and then eventually they fuse and stop the current. The amps coming though is so much that the 40A fuse starts to heat up and melts the surroung plasting of the fuse holder. I thought of getting the installer to disconnect the parrallel connection. It would then be 3x Panels in series going through the one 40A fuse, and the other 3x Panels in series going through the one 40A fuse. Then only after the fuses letting the cables run into the inverter in a Parrallel way. Will this solve the problem, is this solution adviseable, or is there another better solution that I didn't think of? Or is there a way or device that can block, regulate, limit, the input from the panels so the excessive current doens't case the fuses to melt the fuse holders.- Help! Noob here. I have a Synapse 5kw inverter and 6x Trinasolar 545W panels. Due to the voltage limitations of the inverter, I thought of connecting 3 of the panels in series and the other 3 panels in series and then connecting those 2 series sets in parallel and to the inverter. The info on the inverter and booklet states that the PV-rated current is 80A. Is this 80A input statement true and will the inverter survive my proposed solution of connecting the two series sets in parallel? In my proposed configuration, what will the max PV voltage be, the max PV current be, and what size PV fuses and cabling would be suggested?Jakes Prinsloo joined the community- Jakes Prinsloo
I moved into a house that had a "UPS" system installed. It is Synapse 5.0K+ Inverter with 4x Champion 6FM200G (12V200ah) Lead Acid Gel Battery(Dated 20190425). Lately with load-shedding the whole system shuts down in less than a hour with a constant load of +- 300-400VA. Now I have 2 questions. 1. I assume a battery, or multiple batteries are faulty. How would one go about testing these batteries. 2. What are all the charging settings on the inverter suppose to be for these batteries. I have no idea who installed this system or if it is even done correctly, hence my wanting to verify what should be the correct settings on the inverter for these batteries.
