Mecer Inverter PV problems

Featured Replies

Morning All,

My PV does not show on the display. No PV volts or PV amps,

When I installed the system in mis December prior going on leave, all was indicating as it should on the display screen, PV ect.

when we came back, +- 3 weeks, I noticed there is no PV display, only utility and batteries.

I do measure 128 and 130v DC at my PV combiner box,

My system is as follows;

2 x 5kV Mercer in parallel / 145v

18 x 415W panels, 9 per Inverter

Pylontek batteries, 1 x US 5000 and 2 x US 3000

I have tried several settings, switched all off and on, same.

Please assist me,

Thank you ,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

does it show the same on both inverter displays? Did you measure voltage on the inverters PV input terminals? Did you check the fuses of the PV feeder lines?

130 V is quite high, the start of solar charge power ramp down. At 135 V, solar charge power will be reduced by 33%.

However, I would not expect that this would cause the PV icon (small solar panel) not to show on the front panel display. What should happen is that the icon should show, power (possibly restricted) should start to be pulled from the panels, this should pull the panel voltage down, and that should allow full solar charge power. You may have more problems in winter when the panel voltages are even higher.

You say you see 128-130 V at the distribution box, do you see it at the PV input terminals?

Do both Mecers have their own separate panels?
