March 23, 20224 yr Hi All, I'm hoping that someone here has experienced the same problem or can atleast guide me in the right direction. Our system has been running for about 2 months now and it has done well so far. Since yesterday we have had the batteries show 100% SOC and dropping to 0%, nothing changed - I just noticed this today. Dropped the mains and all went off, so with the Sunsynk thinking the batteries are at 100% it uses grid and pv for daytime use and looks like it sends a small charge to the batteries. Tonight will probably be 100% grid. Is there something I can check or do from my side ?
March 24, 20224 yr Hi Duane, I had a similar problem. Turned out one of the fuses in the battery disconnect fuse holder burned. I replaced the fuse and all was ok again.
March 24, 20224 yr If you using "Lithium battery type", you can check that comms between SunSynk and AlphaESS is working via the LiBMS screen. Also check the "System Flow Chart"
March 24, 20224 yr Author @system32 - Thank you, there is no data on the Limbs page. Seems like comms is an issue, on the flow chart it fluctuates (100% to 0% Volts also up and down)
March 24, 20224 yr Author @JL10 Much appreciated - Found the blown fuse. We live and we learn! Thank you
March 24, 20224 yr Hi Duane, I had a similar thing happen on my side. I did not notice the Installer used a battery fuse with a lower rating than what we programmed as the maximum charge and discharge current for the battery. Naturally the thing burnt out. Something to check on the possible reason you lost the fuse in the first place.
October 29, 20223 yr Hi. I have alpha-ess batteries and my inverter is too weak (5kW). If I replace the alpha-ess inverter with a sunsync 8kW I want to make sure it's compatible? Seems from your post that it is. Can you perhaps show me your setup? [email protected]
