Hi All

As the topic mentions I am looking for some recommendations around 1 or 3 phase power monitors.
I am looking for something relatively cheap R1K for 1 phase and R2.5K for 3 phase. They should be able to log to an app or at least software running on a PC.

This is to monitor power usage before taking the off grid plunge.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

Hi @uDuWaR

I initially started with an Efergy 3-phase which work pretty well and gave me a good general overview of my power usage.

I found however that it was not granular enough when I installed my Inverter as it basically just gives you the totals that you are using and I was getting that information from my inverter.

I subsequently purchased an Emporia Vue 2 from Amazon which is very good value for money @ $200 shipped as it provides up to 16 x 50 Ct Clamps and  3 x 200A CT Clamps for 3-Phase supply. It will give you the amount of power being distributed to through all the individual breaker circuits on your DB-Board as well as power being drawn through each of your 3-Phases. Delivery took 10 days from Amazon. Just make sure that you order and extra CT CLamp to give you 3 of the 200A CT Clamps as I think it is only supplied with 2 as standard.

Only issue I had with it was that all the data is getting uploaded to the cloud and is not available directly into Home Assistant and has to be accessed via an Integration.

Luckily there someone has done a lot of work and integrated it into ESPHome which is relatively easy to do if you don't mind reflashing the firmware on the unit.

Geewiz have them I think

They only sell the standalone home hub solo. Is this the add on for internet connection?

Presume you also need the CT and transmitter?

@Sc00bs Thanks for the detail, I definitely have a look at the Emporia Vue 2, it does look quite comprehensive. $200 is a little on expensive side, might however be worth it. it.

The reason why have been looking around is that I have seen the Efergy on geewiz as above however the actual monitoring device bottom left, does not seem to be instock. Perhaps it was discontinued?
