Greetings

I have attached an image and also a short video regarding my query.

My question:

Does the invertor have internal protection when in bypass?

Not sure if that is the correct question, but from the attached please compare my question.

There's a resettable thermal circuit breaker at the bottom of the inverter appropriately rated for your model. This is for output short circuit protection in line/bypass mode.

The manual also recommends installation of a separate AC input circuit breaker between inverter and power source

What I am asking is, why is the overload indicating when the invertor is in line mode. Is the current not bypassing the invertor?

Should this not only function when the invertor is utilised?

All the other protection has been installed. All I am asking is the above with pictures and video.

The current still flows through printed circuit tracks and two relay contacts. So there is still a limit.

On a genuine Voltronic, there is a 40A resettable circuit breaker at the AC input. But the Synerji is a clone, so it may not be present. The breaker if present seems to be a quite slow acting one, so as to not nuisance trip on transient loads like motors starting.

Edit: however, I've just checked the genuine Voltronic firmware, version 73.00, which is the latest for PF0.8 models (which are actually quite old now). I was surprised to learn that they don't actually distinguish between line and battery modes! So 110% of output power for 10.5 seconds will bring up fault code 07, overload, regardless of bypass or battery mode. Maybe the PCB tracks aren't rated for 40 A continuous, as the relay contacts are.
