Stolla
Anyone that can help me with alternative software for Solar Power Monitor 2.2.81 ? The inverter is a chinise make PH1800. I've tried watchpower but it does not seem to detect the inverter. The only program that can detect it is Solar Power Monitor

marbella
I tried installing different CH340 USB to serial Driver Software and even changed Com8 to Com2 that all works fine with "Solarpowermonitor 2.2.81" but "Solarpower 1.16SP5" what seems identical to "Watchpower 1.15" does not find the MUST PV1800 Inverter! BTW the defaullt Password is not 12345678 but : administrator Erpenstine
meetyg
The MUST inverters are Voltronic/MPP/AXPERT clones, but they use their own monitoring protocol. Most Voltronics use a Modbus RTU ASCII protocol (meaning commands are text strings), but the MUST use a Modbus RTU binary protocol (arrays of bytes). The Solarpower/Watchpower software is for Voltronic inverters only, the SolarPowerMonitor is for MUST inverters. I haven't found any decent alternative, other than using Solar Assistant with a Raspberry Pi for monitoring and very basic configuration with my MUST inverter. Erpenstine
Any link for a driver I can download to make this work for me in SolarPowerMonitor, mine just searches and searches and does not find my Must PV1800 MPPT inverter
meetyg
I don't recall having to install a special driver on my Windows 10 laptop for SolarpowerMonitor 2.2.81 to work. Simply connected the USB cable to the inverter and laptop. Maybe Windows installed the driver in the background. You do need to have the inverter ON for it to communicate with the PC. Erpenstine
@meetyg It did install the drivers in the background on windows 11, still kept searching in the software though (Inverter is on), I am using a printer cable to connect from the inverter to the PC. Is this correct?
meetyg
Yes, sounds fine. Do you see any new USB device in Device Manager, when plugging in the inverter's USB cable?

pete_at_work
The only way I had this software cooperate with the inverter was by using it in Windows administrator mode. Only then it finds the inverter. Afterwards, in the solar power monitor again login as admin- by entering admin into login credentials pressing thelogin icon (with the person holding key). Only then changes can be appled to settings. I hope this helps. I am still looking for settings explanation and logic behind the 1800 inverter workings. (if anybody can help)
