Hi, new here and looking for advice, I am looking for a Hybrid system but doing it in Stages. Stage 1 plugs and Lights for this I require a 3kva Inverter and Batteries. Then at a later stage (Finance Constarints) i will look at a seperate 3Kva Inverter for the Oven, Geyser and Pool Pump. Is this adviseable or should i Just go Bigger and only 1 Inverter. 

What are the pro's and cons?

Budget plays a big part but I truly believe in going for a bi-directional inverter such as the Sunsynk. 

Reason is Excess Solar can then feed the non essential items and then the let through voltage at least allows you to plug in a vacume cleaner or other high powered items into an essential socket and then the inverter does not trip but pulls the extra wattage from the Grid (if available) 

 

I have seen an install with a 5kw RCT and most items where wired through the inverter as the house was wired that it had to be like to get what they wanted on solar to work. So the moment a printer was going, the iron was on and vacume etc it would overload the inverter and shut down, they did have their office there so was common.

I don't know your financial status but I strongly suggest a bigger inverter and then maybe doing that with a battery and then panels later... Battery first to combat loadshedding.

This is not a bad idea if funds are a problem, there are just a few things to consider.

Make sure you get an inverter that can be paralleled so when you get the second one, they can be joined to make 6kva.

I'd suggest getting a 48V (not 24V) model to have more choice of lithium batteries and in case you go to bigger inverter later you will need 48V. You may decide to sell the 3kva and upgrade to a single 7kva instead.

Having 2 inverters means you have redundancy if 1 goes down. It will also allow you to run different spec solar panels on each. If you are buying panels in stages they can get difficult to match up years later.
