I am looking to install a lithium battery on my centurion d5 gate motor. Anyone have any experience with this brand of battery? Any ideas who the supplier/distributor is in Gauteng.

Is this perhaps just another 'China Mall' battery that I should rather avoid and go with a more reputable brand?

Show us a cell of any of the batteries sold in SA where those cells originate anywhere else but China.

yes even blue nova, securiprod and vestwoods uses Chinese cells and Chinese bms'es.

the difference comes in the overall construction of type of batteries and what Chinese bms they select for their product.

Do you have any insight into the make or quality of the BMS fitted in the S-100/S-120?

Thanks a lot for the informative answers guys. Im keen to look at the teardown of each of the brands. I'm am aware that most of these components come from China I guess its the quality of the components and the build quality that separates the cheaper ones from the more expensive ones. The only reason I mentioned the 'China mall' is I have seen some 7ah lithium batteries at the one near me for around R400. I would not attempt to put one in my gate motor.

yes it is a china mall battery, but so are almost 90% of these types,

If you want to be sure of the quality then get a blue nova.

with these batteries it is truly a case of "you get what you pay for"

although it is doing duty in my D5 currently and so far its working as it should

Which one do you have in your D5 gate motor is it the Vestwoods one?
