April 30, 20179 yr As far as I understand, there are no regulations for the DC side (panels and batteries) in South Africa yet, but your AC side will need to signed off by a registered electrician to ensure it complies with regulations.

You need a COC for the inverter. The PV array is DC and there's no official certification for it yet. 3. Yes. 4. Yes
