Posted March 14, 20232 yr I have an axpert VM III 5KW from voltronic I would like to connect it to a felicity solar lithium battery ( LPBF 48200-M ) How can I connect it to the battery through BMS? if someone tried it please give me how I can make the custom cable from the inverter's side ( I know how to make it from the battery side ) and which battery type should I use ?

This is promising for you as your VM3 also supports the RS485 Pylontech. But we need to verify wether your battery functionality matches that of the one Steve used. Do you have a RS485 port on the battery? . Can you send a picture of the battery and also a closeup of the comm connectors.?

I did pair the battery with Growatt SPF 5000 es inverter, but I couldn't know how to pair it with voltronic VMIII inverters ( it does pair with VMIIII inverters ), so this is the main problem with voltronic, not knowing the RS pins and what protocol should be used with it ( Lib - PYL - WECO - LIC ).

Ok, so the very same cable you used for VM4 should work on VM3, when menu options 5 is set to PYL. Yet you say it does not work on VM3?

I didn't try the same cable used for VM4 on the VM3 inverter because there is no diagram in the VM3 for the cable while there is a diagram for the cable in VM4 user manual, maybe it has something with the battery BMS not the inverter ?

You quite right, the VM3 has no schematic for BMS pinout. But I assure you they both the same, VM3 and VM4 BMS pinouts. If I remember off the cuff its pin 3 and 5 (cannot remember which is A and B but the VM4 schematic will tell you) So the VM4 cable you can use on VM3 as is. Ok I will try The VM4 cable and tell you the result, thank you

I want to consider pairing Axpert VM III 3000-24 and Felicity LPBF24200-M.

Have a look at this Felicity BMS Communication Guide in the files section. Voltronic Power Inverters 1. Communication Cable Pinout: 5,6 (Battery, any port)->3,5 (Inverter, BMS port) 2. Setting steps on inverter: Setting->14->PYL 3. Sign of successful communication: Check the battery SOC on inverter

Yup, I don't know why they keep saying it has to be PYL to everyone, Even their engineers in my country say it has to be PYL, and it still doesn't work xD I didn't try it on the VM III 5Kw yet, but in the next week I will be connecting one LPBF48200 to a 5Kw inverter, it should work

December 27, 2024Dec 27 hello,in BMS mode, battery will adjust charge current according to the SOC to protect battery, which is normal phenomenon, pls dont be worry
