Posted March 25, 20232 yr The system is running fairly well at the moment but I would like the BMS to communicate and show accurate SoC. Is it possible to connect my Schubart batteries to a Sunsynk 8kW Hybrid inverter and if so how? I have 4 x 4kWhp batteries connected in parallel. The batteries each have one RS232 (RJ11/12) port and only one RS485 (RJ45) port. According to the Engrish manual (https://www.lithiumpowerbattery.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/48V-4KWP-User-Manual.pdf), only the RS232 can be used for communicating BMS info to the inverter and the RS485 can communicate slave to master info between batteries. Has anyone dealt with this before or know how I would be able to do this?
July 6, 2024Jul 6 Hi Roelof Based on the manual posted, the Schubart battery does not appear to be able to communicate withthe Sunsynk inverter. The reason for my statement is that it communicates to batteries in the bank withthe RS485 port and Inverters either communicate withthe battery via RS485 or CAN communication ports, neither of which are available for Inverter to battery Comms. The RS 232 port may be utilised together with a device offered by a company like Solar Asisstant though I did not find the schubart battery listed on their website. https://solar-assistant.io/shop Anyway, if you did find a solution, please do advise.
