April 15, 20233 yr Is it normal practise to issue COC only 2 weeks after installation with the reason being to let the system run in first so the installer is sure there are no issues? Or does it actually take 2 weeks to register and issue it?
April 16, 20233 yr @Amber COC needs to be issued immediately after inspection and tests are done by the electrical contracted and he is satisfied that the installation is safe. COC is registered after it is issued to the client and must be accompanied by the test report carried out by the contractor. If alterations to your electrical installation was made and your are in possession of a valid COC then a COC supplement to be issued for changes made. So no a coc must be issued immediately after the inspections and tests.

I've also been waiting a rather long time for mine and the excuses are starting to become a bit thin. (What do you mean its not in your inbox, will be in the area next week and will drop it off, please remind me tonight etc)

Sounds almost like he has a buddy who will sign off the CoC not being actually on site to check AND test and make sure everything is done correctly according to code. The CoC is a physical inspection and tests of the electrical work done/added. No need to wait some time to make sure it works. Edited May 7, 20233 yr by WannabeSolarSparky
