May 6, 20233 yr Hi All, So on my 2 5.12 SHOTO batteries I had the charge current set at 10Amps which equates to around 3-4% per hour on SA, I would like 2 know 2 things when I increase this value to 20Amps SA shoots up to 10% charge per hour however my usage from Eskom also increases obviously which I don’t want so I’m happy to keep the Eskom charging down to 10Amps. In SA there are 2 settings one says grid and the other doesn’t say anything about grid, im assuming that the other setting is for PV charging? If yes can I change this to 20Amps to charge the batteries quicker? Is there na impact on the battery and its lifetime having different settings for different charge sources? Max charge current - ? Max Grid Charge current - Eskom? Any direction would help clarify this for me Edited May 6, 20233 yr by Raiden2912
May 6, 20233 yr Set your max charge current to 50A. Should be fine. This will allow batteries to charge up quickly from solar but limit eskom charging to 10A. I am assuming you have solar.
