in my setup, I have 3 Shoto SDC-Box5 batteries, and the DIP switches are as following:
1) 1 is up, other are down
2) 2 is up, other are down
3) 1,2 are up, other are down
with such setup everything works fine.

Ok update...also had some neighbours on the group chats complaining about the service fee.

Purchased a R1000 now, remaining service fee of R50 was deducted and the remaining R950 went to the allocation of units = 341.20

So recap for my spend so far:

Total Spent = R1300
Total Service Fees = R200
Total on units = R1100 = 388.10 units

Previously for R1000 on day 1 of the new month I would get 406 units.

I will now need to spend about R1400 to get the same/similar number of units as before...absolute bunch of BS.

So that's definitely a voltronics rebrand..
What details does solarman provide that solar assistant doesn't?

Your inverter isn't a Deye inverter I assume. All deye inverters have external loggers, solarman is deyes software. If you have a voltronic inverter (which I assume you do) then you can't use solarman. No benefit in doing so either since you have solar assistant. 
The voltronics use the 'watch power' app which is hopeless.

You are still usefully better off on pre-paid.

We’ve had 2 geyser converted to geyserwise about 15 months ago. Sep 2022.
works perfectly well. My geysers are heated by solar pv power in the day. The app is not mind blowing (Tuyu compatible) but it does its thing.
I would have liked the 4x6hour blocks to be more flexible, but we’ve learned ro live with it. Use battery to heat at 6am if needed, because the sun will recharge from 8am onwards.
however, if you don’t have good batteries, you would have like to pick the hours of the day, and not the quarters to heat.
that is a fundamental flaw, but its a software decision. So, the developers can fix it if they wanted too.

Plain old hose and water, cleaned mine a couple months ago and still seems fine. Will do another hose off after 18:00 at night

Most solar panels have a protective anti-glare coating which can be damaged removed by cleaning with any sort of detergent.
Best way to clean your panels is gently with water and a soft broom or mop.

The big takeaway here is to learn what tariffs are available to you, do some sums, then see what suits you.

Many people in COJ could save the best part of a grand a month if they converted to pre-paid.

We don't make a lot of toast. May be even a pan on a gas stove? 
We make toasted cheese on the gas plate.

Absolutely. Been on prepaid for years now and it's just the best. The ability to even just monitor your consumption on the daily shifts behavior a lot and that brings added savings. 

The black flexible pipe seems to work better, with the blue fittings with an o ring seal. The nut is just in place to stop the pipe pulling out. Just take the sharp edges off the pipes before pushing them in using some liquid soap as well.

What class are your PVC pipes? Have never had that issue when I did my pipes & also verify that your glue hasn’t stayed too long on the shelf. Use blue type PVC pipes, minimum Class-8. For hot water ideal would be to use copper pipe and solder it together at joints or angles. Where maintenance will need to be done use union fittings. I installed my water tank in 2014, have never had issues, leaks or bursts. Ask for guidance from plumbers or reputable hardware shops in terms of the brand name of glue to use. DO NOT USE soap to slide pipes into each other, use the glue, it needs to set normally for 24-48hrs and even shorter for more expensive brands.

I recommend using automations in a different way.
Output source priority without the conditions based on battery SOC, then only time intervals.
Use automations to Charge source priority considering both time intervals and battery SOC.
Just a question:
Why would you like to use the battery only when its SOC is greater than 97% and time between 8:31 and 16:30?
Below my automations (from 23 to 07 the cost of energy for me is very low).

Update - Finally my COJ account has been sorted, no electricity section on my bill and I am in a negative balance with COJ.😁 I also have started uploading my water bill (I have borehole with Jojo) online….no more estimated readings. 👏🏽👏🏽

Yes, get a geyserwala. It replaces the controller on the wall and allows you to connect to it via a webpage or a app. Cost less than a R1000. Easy diy fit.

found the problem, seems as though there was an airlock in the system. I had a plumber come through and do the pressure test with Gas. That seemed to have resolved the issue. Weird. Thank you
