  1. Off topic a little ,Electromann has 550w panels for R1625. Stock up before the loadsheding
  2. Many other batteries are out there which can be paired as long as they have 15 cells.A friend of mine is running a cheap svolt in parallel with a pylontech with no comms cables and they work fine. Turn your charging voltage no higher than 53v ,this will cause the charge current to drop off before its fully charged. I am only charging to 52.5v with no issues. Pylontech are doing a dirtyon us and making us carry the can for their bad bms.

  4. Most things are possible, but it might not be economical. S-Volt have not answered my mails on BMS information. Rather sell the 15 cell and buy the 16 cell version. Or a brand that has more backup service.
  5. There is also the issue of keeping the batteries balanced, most cheap inverters just charge both in series. Check the maximum charge voltage does not exceed 28.4v at the tail end of the charge cycle. A bad BMS can wreck a battery. I would rather fit a single 24v lipo with the right protection.
  6. Batman on this group has done some solid repairs on the voltronic clones. I recommend him. Send him a private message if you are stuck.

Another approach would be to do the maths on the cable costs and see if it is not better to have a separate high voltage mppt to charge your batteries. I found this solution worked to help my friends with solar addition problems.
  9. Just a short while ago they wanted to charge a R1500 surcharge to solar panel users. Dont trust them.
  10. Been to the factory 4 times and have yet to see the production line running.I keep buying from them as the panels perform well. I can say the service levels are extremely slow. On complaining I was told that there target market is the EU. With the cheaper imports I wonder if They have become resellers.
  11. Is this battery a 15 cell unit, If so try the pylontech settings max voltage 53.5v
  12. The black flexible pipe seems to work better, with the blue fittings with an o ring seal. The nut is just in place to stop the pipe pulling out. Just take the sharp edges off the pipes before pushing them in using some liquid soap as well.
  13. Short answer no. Most welders run at about 50v at 100A you need 5000w plus a bit extra.
  14. Please more detail,cell manufacturer,Grade,bms amperage,nego?
  15. I went to their factory in pinetown and they have all the machines set up to manufacture but there was no production happening.I asked about this and the reply was they do runs on different types of panels on different days.I know they make custom panels for clients but I am still sceptical and worry that we get imported rebranded panels. They claim to supply the european markets
  16. I have 7 of their panels in the Cape and even with the odd misty clouds they generated 3.7 kw.I see their efficiency is 21% where some of the other panels only have 20%.In Durban I fitted a cheaper brand but was able to buy extra panels .
  17. I have them fitted and they work well even in overcast conditions. Customer service is slow, panels a bit pricey now compared to other suppliers.
